BOSTON, MA – The Minnesota Twins announced today that they have recalled outfielder Gabriel Gonzalez from Triple-A St. Paul.
Gonzalez, 22, has hit .524 (11-for-21) with one double, one triple, three RBI, four runs scored, five walks, a .615 on-base percentage, a .667 slugging percentage and a 1.282 OPS over his last six games for the Saints. The 5-foot-11, 247-pound outfielder has played 44 games for the Saints this season, hitting .216 (38-for-176) with five doubles, eight home runs, 21 RBI, 27 runs scored and 18 walks. Gonzalez is ranked by MLB.com as the club’s seventh-best prospect, fifth among position players and third among outfielders. The Carupano, Venezuela native was acquired by the Twins as part of the Jorge Polanco trade with the Seattle Mariners on January 29, 2024. He will be in uniform for tonight’s game at Fenway Park against the Boston Red Sox and looking to make his major league debut.
To make room for Gonzalez on the 26-man roster, the Twins have placed infielder Tristan Gray on the Paternity List. Gray has played in 26 games for the Twins this season, hitting .240 (18-for-75) with one double, three home runs, 14 RBI, nine runs scored and six walks.
