The second game of 's rehab assignment was pushed back by a day due to rain, but he made up for lost time with a loud performance at the plate.

Sano went 4-for-4 with a two-run homer and played seven innings at third base in his second rehab appearance with Class A Advanced Fort Myers in the first game of the Miracle's doubleheader against Clearwater on Thursday. Sano's homer also plated Royce Lewis, the Twins' No. 1 prospect and the No. 4 prospect in baseball.

He had gone 0-for-1 with a walk and was hit by a pitch in his debut on Tuesday.

Prior to Sano's participation in games, he had undergone a roughly two-week-long conditioning program akin to Spring Training at the Twins' Minor League facility in Fort Myers, Fla., in order to ramp his body up into playing shape. He is expected to make stops at both Double-A Pensacola and Triple-A Rochester prior to his return to the Major Leagues.

Sano, who suffered a laceration to his lower right Achilles area in January during a parade celebrating a Dominican Winter League championship, had not participated in baseball activities throughout Spring Training and into the regular season as the Twins allowed the wound to heal. It was announced that he had started throwing, fielding and swinging a bat on April 7 before he was sent to Florida.
