A's Acquire RHP Tanner Roark from Cincinnati for Minor League OF Jameson Hannah

The Oakland A's acquired right-handed pitcher Tanner Roark and cash considerations from the Cincinnati Reds for minor league outfielder Jameson Hannah, the club announced today.

Roark is 6-7 with a 4.24 ERA in 21 starts for Cincinnati. He has a .273 opponents batting average, including .230 with four home runs against right-handed hitters compared to .320 with 10 home runs against left-handers. Roark made his Major League debut with Washington in 2013 and went 55-39 with a 3.41 ERA in 151 games, 111 starts, over his first five seasons with the Nationals. The 32-year-old right-hander then went 9-15 with a 4.34 ERA in 2018 and was traded to the Reds following the season. Roark is 70-61 with a 3.66 ERA in 203 games, 162 starts, in seven seasons in the majors.

Hannah was batting .283 with two home runs and 31 RBI in 92 games with Single-A Stockton. He was the A's second round draft pick in 2018 and hit .279 with a home run and 10 RBI in his professional debut with Short-Season Single-A Vermont last year. The 21-year-old left-handed hitter has a .282 career average with 29 doubles, four triples, three home runs and 41 RBI in 115 games in two seasons as a professional.
