CUBS 150TH COOKIE CHALLENGE (THE “CONTEST”)
OFFICIAL RULES
NO PURCHASE NECESSARY TO ENTER OR WIN. A PURCHASE WILL NOT INCREASE YOUR CHANCES OF WINNING. VOID WHERE PROHIBITED BY LAW. ALL DISPUTES WILL BE RESOLVED SOLELY BY BINDING ARBITRATION AND ENTRANTS WAIVE THE ABILITY TO BRING CLAIMS IN A CLASS ACTION FORMAT. TRAVEL NOT INCLUDED.
ELIGIBILITY: The Contest is open only to legal residents of the United States (including its commonwealths, territories, and possessions but excluding New York and Florida) and Canada (excluding the Province of Quebec) (the “Eligible Territory”) who are eighteen (18) years of age or older at the time of entry (each, an “Entrant” and collectively, the “Entrants”). Employees, officers, and directors, and their immediate family members (spouse, parent, child, sibling, and their respective spouses, regardless of where they reside) and members of the same household (whether or not related), of Chicago Cubs Baseball Club, LLC (“Sponsor”), the other MLB Entities (as defined below), and each of its and their respective parents, affiliated companies, subsidiaries, licensees, distributors, dealers, retailers, printers, advertising and promotion agencies, and any other entity associated with the Contest are not eligible to participate or win a prize. “MLB Entities” means the Office of the Commissioner of Baseball (“BOC”), its Bureaus, Committees, Subcommittees and Councils, MLB Advanced Media, L.P. (“MLB”), Major League Baseball Properties, Inc., The MLB Network, LLC, the Major League Baseball Clubs (“Clubs”), each of their parent, subsidiary, affiliated, and related entities, any entity which, now or in the future, controls, is controlled by, or is under common control with the Clubs or the BOC, and the owners, general and limited partners, shareholders, directors, officers, employees, and agents of the foregoing entities. Furthermore, individuals are not eligible to enter and will be disqualified if they (i) are or have ever been a food professional, in which, Sponsor may make this determination in its sole and absolutely discretion or (ii) graduated or is currently enrolled in a culinary school/program. The Contest is subject to all applicable laws, rules, and regulations. Void outside the Eligible Territory and where prohibited or restricted by law, rule, or regulation. Notwithstanding the foregoing, if Entrant is the parent or legal guardian of a legal resident in an Eligible Territory who is thirteen (13) years of age or older (“Child Participant”) at the time of entry, such Entrant can participate on behalf of the Child Participant.
ENTRY PERIOD: The Contest begins at 10:00 a.m. Central Time (“CT”) on Monday, April 6 and ends at 11:59 p.m. CT on Thursday, April 30, 2026 (“Entry Period”). Sponsor’s computer is the official timekeeping device for this Contest.
HOW TO ENTER: During the Entry Period, participants must visit www.cubs.com/cookies and complete the following steps to submit an entry (an “Entry”), which includes a Story (as defined below) and an original recipe subject to the guidelines and requirements herein (each, a “Recipe”):
Complete all required fields in the entry form in its entirety;
Provide an essay, not to exceed two hundred fifty (250) words, telling your personal story about your recipe and what makes your cookie the prize-winning cookie! (the “Story”);
List the ingredients in the Recipe (including measurements of each) (each, an “Ingredient” and collectively, the “Ingredients”). Listed Ingredients and/or instructions must include specific flavor, exact measurements and/or weight, and equipment with exact dimensions or sizes;
Provide the complete step-by-step preparation, baking, and cooling instructions for the Recipe. The Recipe must adhere to safe food handling practices, including avoiding contaminating cooked foods with raw foods; and
Provide an essay, not to exceed two hundred fifty (250) words, that expresses your Cubs fandom (“Cubs Story”).
Entrants may, but are not required to, submit the following additional items as part of their Entry:
a. Upload a photo that expresses your Cubs fandom (a “Photo”); and
b. *Upload a video of Entrant baking their cookies which is a great opportunity to show off their cookie-loving personality (a “Video”)! Video must include sound and be no longer than three (3) minutes.
* While submitting a Video is not required to enter the Contest, if an Entrant advances to Round 1, they must submit a Video.
Each Entry must include an Original Story, Recipe, and Cubs Story. Optional submission item includes a Video and/or Photo. Entries submitted with a Story, Recipe, Cubs Story, Photo, or Video that has already been submitted or that is substantially the same as a previously submitted Story, Recipe, Cubs Story, Photo, or Video, as determined by Sponsor in its sole discretion, may be disqualified. Sponsor and/or Concessionaire reserve the right in its sole and absolutely discretion to alter, change, or modify any Entry, which includes any Recipe.
By inputting all required data on the entry form, successfully uploading an Entry and transmitting a completed entry form during the Entry Period, the Entrant will be entered in the Contest. All information submitted online by entrants is subject to, and will be treated in a manner consistent with, Sponsor’s Terms of Use (accessible at https://www.mlb.com/official-information/terms-of-use) and Privacy Policy accessible at (https://www.mlb.com/official-information/privacy-policy). Entrants must fully complete and submit all non-optional data requested on the entry form to be eligible. Incomplete and/or inaccurate entries are void. All online entries must include a valid email address for the entrant. Entrants to the Contest may be given the option to receive newsletter(s) and/or commercial email(s) from Sponsor; however, eligibility to participate in the Contest is not dependent upon entrant’s consent to receive such newsletter and/or emails and consenting to receive such newsletters and/or emails will not impact an entrant’s chances of winning. You may enter the Contest via online entry only. No other method of entry will be accepted. Limit one (1) Entry per person. Additional entries beyond the specified limit will be void. If an Entry includes a Child Participant, then Entrant certifies that they are the parent or legal guardian of the Child Participant and consent to the child’s participation, including the collection, use, and disclosure of the Child Participant’s personal information for the purpose of running this Contest.
Contest Entry Requirements and Conditions. All Entries must comply with the following minimum guidelines to be eligible:
- Each submitted Story, Recipe Photo, Cubs Story, and/or Video must be original and the complete Entry must be an original work of the Entrant, must have been created by the Entrant and must be truthful.
- The Entrant should be the primary subject of any Photo and/or Video. No other individuals other than the Entrant may appear or be included in the Entry without express written permission. If Entry features a minor under the age of majority in their state of residence, Entrant must obtain prior written permission from the minor’s parent or legal guardian. Entrant may be required to provide written permission to Sponsor.
- Photo must not exceed 10MB in size and must be in JPG, JPEG, GIF, or PNG format.
- Recipe must not exceed 5MB in size and must be in DOC, DOCX, or PDF format.
- If submitting a Photo taken by a third party, Entrant warrants and represents that they have secured all rights and clearances to the Photo from the photographer. Entrant may be required to show any and all rights and clearances to Sponsor.
- The Entry cannot contain any commercial content or trademarks other than those of the Sponsor or its products.
- The Entry must not contain any material or elements that are not owned by the Entrant and/or which are subject to the rights of third parties.
- The Recipe cannot have been published in any form or won previous awards, including but not limited to publication in cookbooks, in magazines, on food blogs or on recipe websites unless the recipe features changes considered significant to the Judges, Sponsor, and/or Concessionaire in its sole and absolute discretion.
- Once an Entry has been submitted, it cannot be modified or deleted by Entrant.
- The Entry cannot be profane, pornographic, sexually explicit or suggestive or contain nudity.
- The Entry cannot be violent or promote firearms/weapons.
- The Entry cannot contain or promote cannabis, illegal drugs or tobacco.
- The Entry cannot defame, misrepresent or contain disparaging remarks about people, brands, products or companies.
- The Entry cannot contain content that defaces or depicts any person, brand, product or company in a negative or inappropriate manner.
- The Entry cannot be obscene or offensive, endorse any form of hate or hate group or be derogatory to any ethic, racial, gender, religious, professional or age group.
- The Entry cannot reference or contain materials embodying copyrighted images, names, likenesses or other indicia identifying any brand, products, company or person, living or dead, without permission.
- The Entry cannot communicate messages or images inconsistent with the positive images and/or goodwill to which the Sponsor wishes to associate.
- The Entry cannot depict illegal activity and cannot itself be in violation of any law.
JUDGING: The Contest will have three (3) different rounds of judging. Round 1: Sponsor shall judge all eligible Entries based on the following criteria: Description of cookie recipe (25%); Creativity of submission (25%); Story/Cubs fan connection (25%); and Feasibility for production at Wrigley Field (25%). No later than June 26, 2026, up to twenty-five (25) semi-finalists will be notified that they are advancing to Round 2. Round 2: Sponsor, with the help of its concessionaire, Levy Premium Foodservice Limited Partnership (“Concessionaire”), will bake each recipe from the Entries that advanced from Round 1 and select up to ten (10) cookie recipes after a taste test based on the following criteria: Cookie taste (60%) and Feasibility for production at Wrigley Field (40%). No later than July 15, 2026, up to ten (10) potential finalists will be notified that they have the opportunity to advance to the Final Round (subject to verification of eligibility and compliance with these Official Rules). See Notification section for further details. Final Round: on August 4, 2026, the verified finalists will compete in an in-person baking contest located at Gallagher Way, 3635 N Clark St, Chicago, IL 60613, in front of a panel of judges to be selected by Sponsor, in its sole discretion (“Judges”). In the event an Entrant submitted on behalf of their Child Participant, the Entrant will be considered a finalist and both individuals must be present at the Final Round. The Judges will judge the final product based on the following criteria: Cookie taste and texture (60%); Story/Cubs fan connection (20%); and Feasibility for production at Wrigley Field (20%). On August 4, 2026 (“Winner Determination Date”), one (1) winner will be determined by the Judges (“Winner”). If the winning Entrant submitted on behalf of their Child Participant, such Entrant will be named the Winner on behalf of said Child Participant.
PRIZE: One (1) Prize To Be Awarded. One (1) Winner will receive the following as their prize:
- Cubs 150th Anniversary Merchandise Package
- Cubs branded chef’s jacket and apron
- Home baking gift basket determined by Sponsor
- Two (2) tickets for Winner and one (1) guest to a 2026 Cubs regular season home game (if Winner is accepting the prize on behalf of a Child Participant, Child Participant must be Winner’s guest)
- On-field recognition for the Winner (or Child Participant, as applicable) at Wrigley Field while at the game.
Total Approximate Retail Value of the prize: Two Thousand Five Hundred Dollars ($2,500).
In addition to the above, the Winner’s Recipe may be served at Wrigley Field, subject to the terms as set out in these Official Rules. Exact timing and locations to be determined by Sponsor in its sole discretion.
PRIZE CONDITIONS: All prize details shall be determined in the sole and absolute discretion of Sponsor. The Winner is fully responsible for any and all applicable taxes (including income and withholding taxes). All costs and expenses associated with prize acceptance and use which are not specifically included in the applicable prize description above, including but not limited to transportation, lodging, meals, gratuities, insurance, and other expenses, are the sole responsibility of the Winner. TRANSPORTATION AND LODGING NOT INCLUDED. The prize is non-transferable and non-assignable, with no cash redemptions except at Sponsor’s sole and absolute discretion. Sponsor reserves the right to substitute any prize (or any portion thereof) with a prize of comparable or greater value at its sole and absolute discretion. For the avoidance of doubt, if an Entry includes a Child Participant, the prize will be awarded to the Entrant.
Exact nature and duration of the on-field recognition shall be determined in the sole discretion of Sponsor and subject to availability. Use of any Major League Baseball game/event/exhibition ticket is subject to the standard terms, conditions, and health and safety policies applicable to the ticket; see http://www.cubs.com/ticketback for details. Seat locations at the game/event/exhibition and, unless otherwise stated in the prize description, exact game/event/exhibition date shall be determined in the sole discretion of Sponsor. Winner’s guest(s) must be of legal age of majority in his/her(their) jurisdiction(s) of residence unless accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. Major League Baseball game/event/exhibition dates and times are determined in the sole discretion of the Office of the Commissioner of Baseball and/or the applicable Club and may be subject to change. The terms and conditions of the tickets awarded as part of the prize will govern in the event a legal game/event/exhibition, as defined by Major League Baseball, is not played or held due to weather conditions, an act of God, an act of terrorism, civil disturbance, or any other reason. Winner and his/her guest(s) agree to comply with all applicable ballpark and venue regulations in connection with the prize; see cubs.com/ballpark for details. Sponsor reserves the right to remove or to deny entry to the Winner and/or his/her guest(s) who engage in a non-sportsmanlike or disruptive manner or with intent to annoy, abuse, threaten, or harass any other person at the game/event/exhibition. Released Parties (as defined below) will not be responsible for weather conditions; acts of God; acts of terrorism; civil disturbances; local, state, or federal regulation, order, or policy; work stoppage; epidemic, pandemic, or any other issue concerning public health or safety; or any other event outside of their control that may cause the cancellation or postponement of any Major League Baseball game/event/exhibition. Major League Baseball game/event/exhibition tickets awarded as prizes may not be resold, offered for resale, or used for any commercial or promotional purpose whatsoever. Any such resale or commercial or promotional use may result in disqualification and prize forfeiture, and may invalidate the license granted by the game/event/exhibition ticket.
NOTIFICATION: Each potential finalist will be notified on or about July 15, 2026, and/or if necessary, at the email address, postal address, and/or telephone number (as determined by Sponsor) provided at the time of entry (the "Prize Notification"). In the event that any potential finalist does not respond to Prize Notification within two (2) days of the date of issuance or declines the prize for any reason, a disqualification will result, the prize will be forfeited and, at Sponsor’s sole discretion and time permitting, the next runner-up will be notified. Each potential finalist may be required to submit his/her valid social security number and/or other identification to Sponsor and may receive an IRS Form 1099 for any prize valued at $2,000 or greater. Each potential finalist may be required to execute, have notarized, and return an Affidavit of Eligibility and Release of Liability and, unless prohibited by law, a Release of Publicity, within five (5) days of the date of issuance. Failure to submit any identification required by Sponsor or to return any required documents within the specified time period, noncompliance with these Official Rules, the return of Prize Notification or of the prize (or any portion thereof) as non-deliverable, may result in the potential finalist’s disqualification and finalist prize forfeiture and, at Sponsor’s sole discretion and time permitting, may cause an alternate potential finalist to be notified.
WAIVER OF LIABILITY/PUBLICITY RELEASE: By entering the Contest, each entrant agrees to (a) be bound by these Official Rules, including all entry requirements, and (b) waive any and all claims against Sponsor, the other MLB Entities, Meta Platforms, Inc., Apple, Inc., and each of their respective parents, affiliated companies, subsidiaries, officers, directors, employees, agents, licensees, distributors, dealers, retailers, printers, representatives, advertising and promotion agencies, any Contest prize provider or commercial sponsor, and any other company associated with the Contest, and all of their respective officers, directors, employees, agents, and representatives (collectively, “Released Parties”) for any injury, damage, or loss that may occur, directly or indirectly, in whole or in part, from participation in the Contest, receipt or use of any prize (or any portion thereof), or any travel or activity related thereto. By entering the Contest, each Entrant gives their express permission to be contacted by Sponsor and/or MLB by telephone, email, and/or postal mail for Contest purposes. Each Entrant, grants to Sponsor, MLB, and each of their respective designees a license to publicize their Entry, including, but not limited to, Story, Photo, Recipe, Cubs Story, Video, name, city and state of residence, and any other submission materials (including via both written and media form such as photo or video), prize information, photograph, voice, statements, and/or other likeness for advertising, promotional, trade, and any other purpose, including such information and likeness of any Child Participant, in any media or format now known or hereafter devised, throughout the world, in perpetuity, without limitation and without further compensation, consideration, permission or notification, unless prohibited by law. Each Entrant further understands that by submitting an Entry, they grant to Sponsor and each of its respective designees an irrevocable, perpetual, worldwide, non-exclusive license to, without compensation, consideration, permission, or notification, use their Recipe for its own production, distribution, and/or sale of cookies, which may include altering the Recipe as needed based on its own production needs.
INDEMNIFICATION. Entrant will indemnify, defend, and hold harmless the Sponsor, Concessionaire, Judges, and related entities, agents, and assigns from any claims and damages (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising from or relating to the breach or alleged breach of your representations and warranties herein, the Entry, or Entrant’s conduct in creating the Entry, the acceptance or use of any prize or otherwise in connection with this Contest, including, but not limited to any injury, bodily or otherwise, to Entrant, Child Participant, or any of its guests relating to or arising from the Contest.
ACKNOWLEDGEMENT. Entrant acknowledges the proprietary nature of all names, trademarks, service marks, trade dress, including without limitation work marks, logos, images, colors, designs, likenesses and visual representations owned, controlled, or cleared for use by or on behalf of and/or applied for in or registered with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office or otherwise protected by applicable law, by Sponsor (collectively, the “Sponsor Marks”). Entrant acknowledges that a license from Sponsor is required to use such Sponsor Marks and that no such license is granted herein, and Entrant agrees that it will make no use of any Sponsor Marks without the prior written consent of Sponsor. For example, Entrant, or if applicable, Child Participant, shall not use any Sponsor Marks or reference to this Contest for promotion of their own recipe, product, service, or business in any way.
GENERAL CONDITIONS: The decisions of Sponsor are final and binding on all matters relating to this Contest. Released Parties are not responsible for stolen, late, incomplete, illegible, inaccurate, misdirected, lost, misrouted, scrambled, damaged, delayed, undelivered, mutilated, postage-due, or garbled entries, transmissions, email, or mail; lost, interrupted, or unavailable network, cable, satellite, server, Internet Service Provider (ISP), wireless network, website, or other connections; availability, accessibility, miscommunications, or failures of computer, satellite, telephone, cable, or wireless transmissions or lines; computer hardware or software malfunctions, failures, or difficulties; wireless service congestion; failures or malfunctions of phones, phone lines, telephone systems, wireless towers, or cellular tower equipment; any error, omission, interruption, defect, or delay in wireless or other transmission, processing, or communication; printing, typographical, or other errors appearing within these Official Rules, in any Contest-related advertisements, or other materials; cancellation or postponement of any Major League Baseball game/event/exhibition; or any other errors, problems, or difficulties of any kind, whether human, mechanical, electronic, or other, relating to the Contest, including, without limitation, errors or difficulties which may occur in connection with administration of the Contest, processing of entries, announcement of the Winner, or any Contest-related materials. Released Parties are also not responsible for any incorrect or inaccurate information, whether caused by website users (e.g., hacking) or by any equipment or programming associated with or utilized in the Contest. Released Parties are not responsible for injury or damage to entrant’s or to any other person's computer and/or wireless device related to or resulting from participating in this Contest or downloading materials from or use of the Contest website. Persons who tamper with or abuse any aspect of the Contest or website; attempt to undermine the legitimate operation of the Contest by cheating, deception, or other unfair playing practices; intend to annoy, abuse, threaten, or harass any other entrant or any representative of Sponsor and/or MLB; or who are in violation of these Official Rules, as solely determined by Sponsor, will be disqualified and all associated entries will be void. Sponsor shall have the sole right to disqualify any entrant for violation of these Official Rules or any applicable laws relating to the Contest and to resolve all disputes in its sole discretion. Released Parties (a) make no warranty, guaranty, or representation of any kind concerning any prize (or any portion thereof) and (b) disclaim any implied warranty. Sponsor’s failure to enforce any term of these Official Rules shall not constitute a waiver of that provision.
Sponsor and MLB reserve the right, in their sole discretion, to modify, suspend, extend, or cancel the Contest (or any portion thereof) in the event Sponsor is prevented from executing the Contest as contemplated herein by any event beyond Sponsor’s control, including but not limited to: fire; flood; earthquake; explosion; public health epidemic or crisis; labor dispute or strike; act of God or public enemy; network or equipment failure; riot or civil disturbance; terrorist threat or activity; war (declared or undeclared); court order; or federal, state, or local government law, order, or regulation. Sponsor and MLB also reserve the right, in their sole discretion, to modify, suspend, extend, or cancel the Contest (or any portion thereof) should virus, bugs, unauthorized human intervention, or other causes or events corrupt administration, security, fairness, integrity, or proper operation of the Contest. In the event of cancellation, Sponsor may elect to identify the winners and award the prizes by judging all non-suspect, eligible entries received up to the time of cancellation. Sponsor also reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to modify these Official Rules for clarification purposes without materially affecting the terms and conditions of the Contest.
CAUTION: ANY ATTEMPT TO DELIBERATELY DAMAGE ANY WEBSITE ASSOCIATED WITH THIS CONTEST OR UNDERMINE THE CONTENT OR LEGITIMATE OPERATION OF THIS CONTEST MAY BE A VIOLATION OF CRIMINAL AND CIVIL LAWS AND, SHOULD SUCH AN ATTEMPT BE MADE, SPONSOR WILL DISQUALIFY ANY ENTRANT RESPONSIBLE FOR THE ATTEMPT AND SPONSOR, MLB, AND THEIR RESPECTIVE AGENTS RESERVE THE RIGHT TO SEEK DAMAGES (INCLUDING ATTORNEYS’ FEES) AND OTHER REMEDIES FROM ANY PERSON(S) RESPONSIBLE FOR THE ATTEMPT TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW.
Entries generated by a script, macro, or other mechanical or automated means will be disqualified. In the event of dispute as to the identity or eligibility of any potential finalist or Winner based on email address, the winning entry will be declared made by the Authorized Account Holder of the email address submitted at the time of entry, provided he/she is eligible according to these Official Rules. The “Authorized Account Holder” is the natural person to whom the applicable ISP or other organization (such as a business or educational institution) has assigned the submitted email address for the domain associated with such email address.
ARBITRATION; CLASS ACTION WAIVER: As a condition of entering this Contest, each entrant agrees that (a) any and all disputes, claims, controversies, or causes of action arising out of or relating to this Contest or any prizes awarded (each, a "Claim") shall be (i) arbitrated on an individual basis only and shall not be consolidated or joined with or in any arbitration or other proceeding involving a Claim of any other party and (ii) settled by binding arbitration in New York County, New York before a single arbitrator appointed by JAMS in accordance with its then governing rules and procedures, and judgment on the award rendered by the arbitrator may be entered by any court having jurisdiction thereof; and (b) under no circumstance will entrant be permitted to obtain awards for, and entrant hereby waives all rights to claim, punitive, incidental, consequential, or any other damages, other than for actual out-of-pocket expenses. For New Jersey residents, the limitations set forth above may be inapplicable where attorneys' fees, court costs, or other damages are mandated by statute. These Official Rules shall be governed by and construed and interpreted in accordance with the laws of the State of New York, U.S.A, applicable to contracts entered into and performed exclusively in that State.
