Play For Opening Day

The Chicago Cubs and Budweiser are bringing back the “Play for Opening Day” batting practice event for fans as a way to celebrate the start of the 2023 regular season, which kicks off at Wrigley Field Thursday, March 30, when the Cubs take on the Milwaukee Brewers.

Event Details: The "Play for Opening Day" event will take place on Monday, March 27, from noon-3 p.m. CDT at Wrigley Field. Interested fans should arrive at Gallagher Way at noon CDT to receive a scratch-off card. If you're one of the lucky 50 fans selected, you'll get three chances to hit a target in the ballpark for the chance to win prizes, including the grand prize of one million dollars for the first fan who hits the stack of Budweiser cases in the upper level of the Budweiser Bleachers.

Who Can Participate: Fans must be 21 years of age or older, a legal resident of the United States (excluding FL, RI, NY) and Canada (excluding Quebec) to participate and must be present to win the opportunity. See Official Rules for full eligibility requirements. Fans are discouraged from arriving early as it will not increase their chances of participating.

All 50 fans who participate, regardless of whether or not they hit a target, will receive a pair of tickets to Opening Day. In the event of rain or snow, "Play for Opening Day" will be held in a limited format with modified prizing.

Don't miss your chance to swing for the fences and win big at the "Play for Opening Day" event!
