CHICAGO -- The Cubs hoped to play baseball on Friday, but for different reasons.

On Thursday, Major League Baseball postponed Game 2 of the National League Wild Card Series between the Cubs and Marlins due to incoming inclement weather around Wrigley Field.

That resulted in Game 2 being pushed back to 2 p.m. ET/1 CT (on ABC) on Friday, when Cubs ace Yu Darvish and Marlins rookie Sixto Sánchez will start against each other in a win-or-go-home game for Chicago. Miami dealt the North Siders a stunning 5-1 loss in Game 1 Wednesday afternoon.

Should the Wild Card Series reach a Game 3, that critical contest would take place on Saturday at 3:30 p.m. ET/2:30 CT on ESPN2.

As things currently stand, the Cubs would hand the ball to veteran Jon Lester in Game 3, while Miami would send Pablo López to the mound.
