COMPLETE REDS PROSPECT COVERAGE
Team to watch
While Single-A Daytona leads the way with six Top 30 prospects on the roster, we’ll give Triple-A Louisville the nod with five because they have three top 10 players, not to mention the whole thing about it being a phone call away. It’s a group led by Héctor Rodríguez’s bat, while infielder Edwin Arroyo and Chase Petty do have former time on the Top 100 on their resume.
Players we could see in MLB in 2026
Any of the aforementioned players in Louisville. Petty already has big league time and could be called upon again at some point, much like Jose Franco was in late March. Zach Maxwell, who also made his big league debut last year, could contribute out of the Cincy bullpen at any point.
New faces
Cincinnati’s 2025 first-round pick, Steele Hall, didn’t play last year after signing, and the club is continuing with its tendency to hold its early-round high school hitters back in extended spring training before sending them out for their pro debuts. Look for him to make short work of the Arizona Complex League and spend much of the second half of the season with Daytona. The Reds took high school right-hander Aaron Watson in the round after Hall, who will also start this season in extended spring training. Angel Nuñez was the organization’s top signing in the 2026 international class, getting $3 million to become a Red. He’ll get started a bit later in the Dominican Summer League.
On the shelf
Luke Holman has thrown just nine total innings since the Reds took him No. 71 overall in the 2024 Draft. He made first two starts in 2025 before an elbow injury led to Tommy John surgery, and he’s working his way back. Ricky Cabrera played in only 21 games last year because of a knee injury, and he’s still struggling to get going. The Reds placed him on the 60-day injured list on March 17.
