On August 29 at Wrigley Field, the Cubs will host a celebration for the 150th anniversary as a National League franchise. The celebration honors the players, people, places and traditions that have defined Cubs baseball since 1876 while recognizing the organization’s enduring connection to the neighborhood it has called home for more than a century.
Special campus events include:
The dedication of a new Founders’ Clock at the corner of Clark and Addison streets. This permanent four-sided clock will serve as a new landmark for residents, visitors and fans featuring historic Cubs logos and inscriptions highlighting four eras of franchise history.
The recognition of the Cubs 150th Anniversary Team presented by motorola razr. This collection of 40 players and three managers from 1876 to today represent those most accomplished and influential in franchise history and were chosen by fans online. The complete roster will be recognized pregame featuring over 20 members in attendance.
A ceremonial signing of a replica 1876 championship banner at Gallagher Way, recognizing the club that won the National League championship in the league’s inaugural season.
- The banner will be available for fans without a gameday ticket to sign before Gallagher Way gates open. After Gallagher Way gates open, fans will need a ticket to enter Gallagher Way and sign the banner. The fan-signed banner will be displayed at the ballpark to commemorate the team’s anniversary and the vital role that Cubs fans have played over the past 150 years.

The continuation of the 150th anniversary exhibition over the weekend featuring historical artifacts in the motorola razr room.
An interactive experience for Cubs fans with world-renowned sports artist, Dave Hobrecht, painting commemorative images of Jon Lester and Jody Davis in the motorola razr room from August 29-30.
