ATLANTA -- The Dodgers’ summer tryout camp continues on Sunday, when Dustin May is scheduled to make his MLB relief debut and the starter might be Tony Gonsolin, manager Dave Roberts said on Friday.

The two rookies are under consideration for spots on the postseason pitching staff. Gonsolin, currently with Triple-A Oklahoma City, was a reliever until last season. The 21-year-old May has been a starter.

“It’s not clear and we’ve expressed that to Dustin,” Roberts said on a role decision. “Right now, we’re just trying to keep our options open as long as we can.”

May, ranked No. 2 in the Dodgers' system and 34th overall by MLB Pipeline, has made three appearances for the Dodgers in recent weeks, all starts, going 1-1 with a 2.65 ERA, 15 strikeouts and two walks in 17 innings. The 25-year-old Gonsolin, Los Angeles' No. 6 prospect, is 1-1 with a 3.21 ERA in three games, two of them starts, the other a four-inning save at Coors Field.

Roberts said if Gonsolin doesn’t start on Sunday, it will be a bullpen game. The Dodgers are short starting pitchers because Rich Hill (flexor tendon) and Ross Stripling (sore neck) are on the injured list.

Worth noting
• The Dodgers on Friday recalled right-handed reliever Josh Sborz and optioned right-hander JT Chargois to Triple-A Oklahoma City.

Chargois had pitched three times in the past four days, but manager Dave Roberts said slider inconsistency also led to the move. Sborz has appeared in only two games for the Dodgers this season, allowing six runs on six hits in three innings. But in his past 10 games at OKC, he is 2-0 with a 2.31 ERA.

• The Dodgers continue their conservative use of outfielder A.J. Pollock due to his lingering groin tightness. Pollock, who played a complete game on Thursday, was out of the lineup on Friday.

Roberts said Cody Bellinger’s willingness to play center field, along with the club’s huge division lead, allows keeping Pollock active, rather than putting him on the injured list.

• Chris Taylor (left forearm fracture) has begun his rehab assignment with Class A Advanced Rancho Cucamonga. Enrique Hernández (left hand sprain) is beginning his rehab assignment in the Arizona League. Roberts said both could rejoin the Dodgers next week.
