Right-hander Zach Agnos started Saturday for the Rockies in place of Ryan Feltner, who was scratched due to an illness. Agnos pitched 2 2/3 scoreless innings before giving way to the bullpen in an eventual 2-1 loss to the Braves.
Agnos, a 10th-round Draft pick by the Rockies in 2022, now owns a 5.49 ERA through 35 appearances (three starts) over 78 2/3 innings this season, his second in the Majors.
Veteran left-hander Martín Pérez pitched 5 2/3 innings of one-run ball for the Braves, who extended their winning streak to six games.
“Having to do that today, I thought that [the relievers] were exceptional,” manager Warren Schaeffer said. “Every guy left it all out there. [Agnos] was great. Behind him, [Nick] Frasso was really good. [Brennan Bernardino], clean inning. Jimmy [Herget] really pitched well today.
“Jaden [Hill], same thing. Just an 0-2 pitch to Harris, game on the line, left the slider up. But Jaden has been great, giving it his all. I was trying to keep [Jordan] Romano for the ninth because he was our last guy, but he came in and did a job.”
