Happy to be at home in LA, Glasnow told he's 'not going anywhere'

The list of starting pitchers available via trade is unusually long this offseason, perhaps best evidenced by the number of 2025 playoff teams reportedly willing to part with their own top-flight arms.

On that note, discussing chatter from this year’s Winter Meetings on Thursday, ESPN’s Alden Gonzalez mentioned the Dodgers’ openness to trading Tyler Glasnow, hypothetically as part of the astronomical package it would take to acquire Tarik Skubal.

“Tyler Glasnow's name has come up in conversations, and the Dodgers would not be opposed to moving him,” wrote Gonzalez. “There are certainly a fair share of teams that will bank on him staying healthy enough to make [his contract] worthwhile.”

An interesting note, and certainly believable, given the rotational depth a healthy Dodgers team would have in 2026. However, in an interview on MLB Network Radio on Sunday, Glasnow himself offered some clarification.

"I'd seen some rumors that I would get traded, so I didn't know what to believe," said Glasnow. "[But] I talked to [Dodgers' president of baseball operations Andrew Friedman] and the front office and they were like, 'No, you're not going anywhere.' So they told me I'm not going to get traded and I trust them.”

For the 32-year-old right-hander, a SoCal native, that reassurance was clearly welcome.

“I think any time I do get overwhelmed or stressed with baseball, I think sometimes it’s nice to just be able to zoom out and be like, ‘Dude, what are you freaking out about? You’re literally living your dream, playing in Dodger Stadium.’”

“I’ll have these moments where I’ll look up and check out the seats where I used to sit and just soak it all in,” he added. “I do think, thinking about my younger self, I don’t even think he’d believe it. I think he’d think someone was lying [to him].
