Indians Volunteer Challenge

How to Join the Volunteer Challenge

  1. Go out and volunteer at one of the Indian's Volunteer Challenge Partners. See list of participating nonprofits on BVU's Website. A minimum of four (4) volunteer hours must be completed between April 1st and August 31st, 2019.
  2. New volunteers: Go to BVU's website to see available volunteer opportunities at the participating organizations. Once you've completed the required four (4) hours of service, see your Volunteer Coordinator for information to request your tickets.
  3. Already volunteering at one of these organizations? See your Volunteer Coordinator for information to participate!

Note about Game Selection: Know before you go! Eligible game dates are listed below. Look at your calendar and choose a game that works with your schedule before signing up for the challenge. You will be asked to make your game selection when registering and will not be able to change it later. Tickets may not be exchanged or resold. Participants are eligible for two (2) free tickets to one (1) game per year. If you log multiple volunteer activities, the first entered game day choice will be the tickets you receive.

Within two (2) weeks you will receive an email with information to claim your tickets from If you do not already have a account, you will be able to create one at this time.

The Cleveland Indians Volunteer Challenge runs from April 1st 2019 until August 31st, 2019. Volunteer hours must be completed and logged by August 31st, 2019, to be eligible to receive tickets. Volunteers must register at Business Volunteers Unlimited ("BVU") website located at Registration is free and no other method of registration will be accepted. Volunteer opportunities are posted at

Volunteer must volunteer for a minimum of four (4) hours for one (1) non-profit that is registered at and tagged as an "Indians Volunteer Challenge" organization ("Qualifying Organization"). Volunteer hours can be earned over multiple dates. Court ordered or other mandatory community service hours or projects do not qualify as volunteer hours in the Challenge. Volunteer must log his/her volunteer hours at Volunteer hours must be completed and logged by August 31st, 2019, to be eligible to receive Tickets. Qualifying Organization will verify Volunteer's logged hours and submit a list of qualifying Volunteers ("Qualifying Volunteers") to BVU.

All Qualifying Volunteers will receive two (2) free tickets to one (1) of the preselected 2019 regular season home Cleveland Indians baseball games at Progressive Field ("Tickets"). Tickets are limited and all tickets and locations are based on availability.

Challenge is limited to two (2) tickets per person regardless of the number of hours of volunteer service completed beyond the four (4) hour minimum requirement.

Children four (4) years of age and younger are not eligible to receive Tickets. Any Tickets earned by a Volunteer between the ages of five (5) and eighteen (18) will be sent to the Volunteer's parent or legal guardian. Other age restrictions may apply to certain eligible volunteer opportunities.

Once volunteer hours are verified, Tickets will be emailed to the address provided at registration. Allow 2 to 3 weeks for delivery.

All Qualifying Organizations have the right to determine if the Volunteers are capable of performing the volunteer service based on their agency's volunteer management procedures. Qualifying Organizations can set specific volunteer restrictions (e.g. minimum age, skill level, etc.) all based on the specific volunteer needs.

Akron-Canton Regional Food Bank, America SCORES Cleveland, American Red Cross - Northeast Ohio Region, Boys & Girls Club of Cleveland, Cleveland AsiaTown, Cleveland GiveCamp, Cleveland Kids Book Bank, Cleveland Metroparks, Cleveland Metropolitan School District, Cuyahoga County Public Libraries, Cuyahoga Valley National Parks, Cuyahoga Valley Preservation and Scenic Railway, Downtown Cleveland Alliance, Empower Sports, Esperanza, First Tee of Cleveland, Greater Cleveland Food Bank, Junior Achievement, Playhouse Square, Ronald McDonald House of Akron, Ronald McDonald House of Cleveland, Seeds of Literacy, YMCA of Greater Cleveland, Youth Challenge and Youth Opportunities Unlimited.

Tickets are non-transferable, must be redeemed by September 4th, 2019 and must be surrendered at time of purchase.

Tickets cannot be used on previously purchased Cleveland Indians tickets, and cannot be combined with any other offer or discount.

The terms and conditions of the tickets obtained through this Challenge will govern in the event a legal game, event or exhibition, as defined by Major League Baseball, is not played due to weather conditions, an act of God, and an act of terrorism, civil disturbance or any other reason. Each Volunteer and his/her guest(s) agree to comply with all applicable ballpark regulations in connection with the tickets. The applicable MLB Entities reserve the right to remove or to deny entry to any Volunteer and/or his/her guest(s) who engage(s) in a non-sportsmanlike or disruptive manner, or with intent to annoy, abuse, threaten or harass any other person at the game, event or exhibition. The MLB Entities will not be responsible for weather conditions, Acts of God, acts of terrorism, civil disturbances, work stoppage or any other natural disaster outside their control that may cause the cancellation or postponement of any Major League Baseball game, event or exhibition. Major League Baseball game tickets obtained in connection with this Challenge may not be resold or offered for resale. Any such resale may invalidate the license granted by the game ticket(s).

All Federal, State and local laws and regulations apply; By participating, Volunteers accept and agree: (a) to be bound by these Terms and Conditions, including eligibility requirements; (b) that the decisions of the Cleveland Indians, the other MLB Entities, BVU and Qualifying Organizations ("Participating Entities") are final on all matters relating to the Challenge; and (c) to waive any right to claim ambiguity in the Challenge or these Terms and Conditions. The "MLB Entities" means the Office of the Commissioner of Baseball ("BOC"), its Bureaus, Committees, Subcommittees and Councils, MLB Advanced Media, L.P., Major League Baseball Enterprises, Inc., Major League Baseball Properties, Inc., the Major League Baseball Clubs ("Clubs""), each of their parent, subsidiary, affiliated and related entities, any entity which, now or in the future, controls, is controlled by, or is under common control with the Clubs or the BOC and the owners, general and limited partners, shareholders, directors, officers, employees and agents of the foregoing entities.

Volunteer grants to the Participating Entities, their parents, subsidiaries, affiliates and those acting pursuant to their authority, the perpetual right to print, publish, broadcast and use, worldwide in any media now known or hereafter developed, including but not limited to the world wide web, at any time or times, each Volunteer's name, address (city & state), portrait, picture, voice, statement, likeness and biographical information for advertising and promotional purposes without additional consideration, compensation, notice or permission except where prohibited by law.

The Participating Entities may prohibit a Volunteer from participating in this Challenge and/or receiving Tickets if, in their sole discretion, it is determined that a Volunteer is attempting to undermine the legitimate operation of the Challenge. Any person attempting to defraud or tamper with the Challenge, any website or any of the Participating Entities will be prosecuted and will not be eligible for Tickets. If for any reason this Challenge is not capable of running as planned, including, but not limited to, tampering, unauthorized intervention, fraud, or any other causes beyond the reasonable control of the Participating Entities which corrupts or affects the administration, security, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of the promotion, then the Participating Entities reserve the right at their sole discretion to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the Challenge.

Each Volunteer participating in the Challenge agrees to hold harmless and fully release the Participating Entities and their respective employees, licensees, representatives and agents from any and all liability for any injuries, losses, death, or damages of any kind caused by or resulting from, directly or indirectly, in whole or in part, the volunteer activities, acceptance, possession, use or misuse of any Tickets or travel or activities related thereto. Volunteer further agrees that in any cause of action, Participating Entities' liability will be limited to the cost of entering and participating in the Challenge, and in no event shall Participating Entities be liable for attorney's fees. Volunteer waives the right to claim any additional damages whatsoever, including, but not limited to punitive, consequential, direct, or indirect damages.
