Marlins acquire UTL Christopher Bostick from Pittsburgh

The Miami Marlins today acquired infielder/outfielder Christopher Bostick from the Pittsburgh Pirates in exchange for cash considerations.

The Miami Marlins today acquired infielder/outfielder Christopher Bostick from the Pittsburgh Pirates in exchange for cash considerations. Bostick has been added to the 40-man roster, which is now full, and has been assigned to Triple-A New Orleans. 
 
Bostick, 25, appeared in 78 games with Triple-A Indianapolis, batting .295 (88x298) with 24 doubles, three triples, four home runs and 32 RBI. The two-time International League All-Star (2017-18) spent the majority of his playing time this season in center field, while also playing both left and right. He is currently tied for sixth among International League hitters in doubles, ranks eighth in average, and 12th in on-base percentage (.351).  
The 5-foot-10, 200-pound Rochester, New York native was selected by the Oakland Athletics in the 44th round of the 2011 First-Year Player Draft. He made his Major League debut with the Pirates on May 8, 2017 vs. the Dodgers, and in 22 career Major League games has hit .276 (8x29). He owns a lifetime .271 average over 822 Minor League games, with 180 doubles, 45 triples, 60 home runs and 385 RBI.
