MIAMI -- The Marlins on Friday announced seven new additions to their professional, amateur and international scouting staffs. The incoming group brings a combined 58 years of experience.

Heading the list are Hadi Raad as director of professional scouting and Bill Masse as a special assignment scout on the pro staff. Shaeffer Hall, James Vilade and J.T. Zink are joining the organization as area scouts on the amateur staff.

On the international side, Clifford Nuitter will be the Venezuela administration coordinator, and Sahir Fersobe has been hired as a Santo Domingo area scout.

Raad spent the past two years as the director of Minor League operations with the Yankees. A 2011 graduate of Wheaton College in Massachusetts, Raad played four seasons of college ball.

Masse brings a wealth of experience with 33 years in professional baseball, most recently with the Mariners. Along with a vast history in scouting, Masse has an extensive coaching resume. In the Yankees organization, he was a Minor League hitting coach and manager from 2001-06. He’s also coached or managed in the Minor Leagues with the Montreal Expos (1997-2000), Blue Jays ('07) and Padres ('08). In 2004, he led the Class A Advanced Tampa team to a Florida State League championship.

A native of Manchester, Conn., Masse was a seventh-round pick of the Yankees in 1988 and played seven seasons in their Minor League system.

Hall will be the Marlins’ area scout for Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska, South Dakota, North Dakota, Minnesota and Iowa. Vilade’s coverage area will be North Texas, Oklahoma and Arkansas. Zink will scout Kentucky, Ohio and Tennessee.

Nuitter has been a scout for 10 seasons, and he joins the Marlins after spending the last four with the Dodgers as their Venezuela and Central America scouting supervisor. Fersobe, a Dominican Republic native, worked at Perfect Game in 2018, and in '19, he was the supervisor of baseball operations and a college placement advisor for the ULeague Baseball Academy.
