Manny to leave Taiwan after just 49 games

After wowing the area with a power display and a series of his typical "Manny being Manny" moments, it appears as though Manny Ramirez's time in Taiwan has come to an end.

The longtime Major Leaguer's club in Taiwan, the EDA Rhinos, issued a statement on Tuesday that explained that Ramirez plans to leave Taiwan on Thursday. The organization had been actively negotiating with Ramirez on a contract extension, but Ramirez prefers to be closer to his family.

In 49 games with the Rhinos, Ramirez tallied 64 hits, eight home runs and 43 RBIs while posting a .352 batting average, a .422 on-base percentage and a .555 slugging percentage.

Over 19 big league seasons, Ramirez, 41, hit .312 and clubbed 555 home runs while playing for the Indians, Red Sox, Dodgers, White Sox and Rays.
