With Rookie of the Year, Cy Young and Most Valuable Player awards all on his resume, Detroit Tigers starting pitcher Justin Verlander is an impact player on the field, but his impact off the field is even more admirable.
Verlander joined the Detroit Tigers Foundation on Wednesday, committing $1 million to launch “Wins for Warriors,” an initiative that will support the mental health and emotional well-being of Iraq and Afghanistan veterans and their families in the Detroit, Richmond and Norfolk areas.
