Graduated from Pinson Valley High School, lettering in baseball and basketball...attended Wallace State Junior College and the University of North Alabama, where he was part of the conference championship club, earning the tournament MVP honors during his senior season.

Spent the majority of the season with Triple-A Ottawa, batting .262 (87-for-332) with 17 doubles, 23 RBI and 30 SB in 88 games...ranked sixth in the International League with his 30 stolen bases...was recalled by Montreal on 7/3 and batted .270 (17-for-63) with 3 RBI in 17 games.

Was recalled from Triple-A Ottawa on 7/21 following Rondell White's season-ending right finger fracture...batted .217 with 1 HR and 15 RBI in 60 games for Montreal...started 57 of 60 games...committed only two errors in 161 opportunities...stole 16 bases in 20 attempts, tying him with White for the team lead...was 2-for-4 with one double, a career-high 4 RBI and his first career home run (off Carlos Perez) on 8/6 vs. Los Angeles...collected a career-high three hits on 8/11 at Colorado...batted .237 with 21 RBI and 35 SB in 81 games with Ottawa before being recalled.
