It was the first surgery of this kind performed on a professional baseball player...Made just 18 starts split evenly before and after his D.L. stint. Was on the disabled list from 5/23 - 8/15...Was the final member of the Cardinals starting rotation to record a win, picking up the 'W' vs. WSH on 5/17...St. Louis went 5-2 in games in which he threw 6.0 innings or more...Did not allow a homer until his 6th start of the season (5/6 at PIT) after beginning the season with 29 consecutive homerless innings. Surrendered the first home run by a Cardinals starter at Busch Stadium in 2010 on 5/12 to Lance Berkman, ending a 100.2 inning homerless streak...Played three innings in LF during 20-inning game against the NY Mets on 4/17 and made two putouts...His start vs. LAA on 5/22 was his last before being placed on the D.L. , leaving the game after 3.1 innings...Had fascial release surgery of his right forearm on 5/28 by Dr. Steven Shin in Los Angeles.
