Spent a majority of the season at the Triple-A level, posting a 1-1 record with three saves and a 4.50 ERA in 36 relief appearances... at the time of his promotion, ranked third on the 51's with 34 appearances ... 2010

Began the season with Indianapolis (AAA)... INDY DOMINANCE: Was scored upon in only three of 35 outings, including a stretch of 20 scoreless innings... Limited AAA hitters to a .156 average.. Did not allow a run in his first eight outings (8.2IP), and recorded eight saves for the Racers... BACK TO THE BIGS: Had contract selected by the Pirates on July 26... Debuted at COL on July 28, retiring all four batters faced... Allowed five runs, while retiring just one batter in his second outing, July 31 at STL... From Aug. 5-20 was scored upon in just one of eight outings... In his final 20 outings with the Pirates he posted a 4.05 ERA.

2009

Pitched for both SDP and ARI, and endured a brief minor-league stint, going 0-2 with a 4.17 ERA in 28 games (6 starts)... was claimed off waivers by ARI on August 29...strung together 13.1 consecutive scoreless innings from April 17-May 4... was designated for assignment by the Friars on June 10 and subsequently outrighted to Triple-A Portland, June 12...pitched well for Portland and had contract purchased by SDP on July 23...ERA at Petco Park was 4.72...outside of San Diego ERA was 3.38....matched career high with 7 punch outs on May 29 vs. Washington.

2007

Acquired by the Padres along with left-handed pitcher Will Startup from the Atlanta Braves in exchange for left-hander Royce Ring on 7/31...pitched in nine games for San Diego (one start), allowing 11 runs (10 earned) in 14.1 innings (6.28 ERA)...posted a 5.25 ERA (7 ER/12.0 IP) with 13 strikeouts in his eight relief outings with the Padres, holding opponents scoreless in four of those contests...recorded a 3.00 ERA (3 ER/9.0 IP) in five appearances at PETCO Park...made his Padres debut 8/2 vs. ARI, tossing 1.0 inning with one strikeout, combining with Jake Peavy (7.0 IP) and Cla Meredith (1.0 IP) for the team's 15th shutout of 2007.

SPOT START: Made his lone start for San Diego on 8/10 at CIN, marking his only start of 2007 and first start since 9/29/06 for the Tigers against the Royals...did not factor in the decision, allowing four runs (three earned) over 2.1 innings in the Padres 12-7, 11-inning victory.
