Posted his lowest batting average (.236) since his debut season (.206, 2004-MTL, 32 games)… His .597 OPS was the lowest of his career in a season in which he played a minimum of 60 games…His previous career-low was .634 set in 2012. Of his five home runs last year, four gave Toronto the lead. Played over 100 games for the 6th time in his career… The 107 appearances marks the 3rd most he has played in a season (122-2011, 114-2009)…Appeared in at least 100 games in three consecutive seasons for the 1st time in his career. Stole only one base, a career-low, while being caught stealing five times…It marked the 1st time in his career to have been thrown out more than his total number of stolen bases. Izturis recorded career highs in batting average (.293), home runs (5), RBIs (44), stolen bases (14), hits (103), runs (64), games played (104) and at-bats (352). He batted .303 after the All-Star break and was bumped to the leadoff spot in September. Izturis posted the second-highest on-base percentage (.365) among starters, second only to Vladimir Guerrero. He assumed the Angels starting third base role in mid-June. The Angels went 49-29 in his final 78 starts.
