Came to camp as a candidate for the Major League roster and immediately experienced right elbow soreness and was shut down for the remainder of camp...Was diagnosed with ligament damage in the elbow and underwent reconstructive surgery in Arlington, Texas on March 27...The surgery to repair and reconstruct the UCL in the elbow was performed by Dr. Keith Meister with an expected return to baseball activity in 12-18 months ...Rehabbed the entire season in Goodyear, Arizona
2016
Split the season between Cleveland and Columbus after winning a spot in the starting rotation coming out of spring training...Spent seven stints with Cleveland, the first of which came April 3-26, going 0-1 with a 7.65 ERA over his first 4 April starts (20.0IP, 34H, 17ER, 4BB, 14SO, 6HR)...Also spent half of May in the rotation, going 1-2 with a 5.95 ERA in 4 games/3 starts (19.2IP, 22H, 13ER, 3BB, 17SO, 4HR)...Picked up lone starter win as the "26th man" in game 2 of a doubleheader at Chicago-AL on May 23 (7.0IP, 5H, 1R/ER, 0BB, career-high 9 strikeouts)...Pitched mostly in relief in the second half of the season for Cleveland, posting a season relief ERA of 4.34 in 10 games in 2016 (18.2IP, 20H, 9R/ER, 5BB, 19SO, 9.2 SO per 9.0IP as reliever)...Picked up first career relief win on July 29 vs. Oakland...On the year Major League batters hit .363 (37-102) off him with runners on base...Around his tenure in Cleveland he has posted a mark of 0-2 with 1 save and a 3.62 ERA in 13 games/6 starts at Triple-A Columbus (32.1IP, 32H, 13ER, 10BB, 40SO)…Appeared in a relief role after August 6, posting a bullpen ERA of 1.23 (7.1IP, 5H, 1R/ER, 10SO) in 7 outings and did not allow a run over his last 6 outings (6.1IP, 3H, 10SO)...Limited Triple-A hitters to a mark of .203 (12-59) with runners on base…Was on the Minor League D.L. from June 13-July 4 with right elbow tightness...Over his Sept. stint he was 0-1 with a 4.35 ERA in 6 games/1 start (10.2IP, 12H, 5R/ER, 13SO) and made his last spot start on Sept. 24 vs. Chicago-AL (2.0IP, 4H, 2R/ER, L#5)...Was on the ALDS and ALCS roster, but did not pitch in the Postseason...Had arthroscopic surgery on his right elbow on Nov. 9 to address recurrent posterior discomfort... Cody was diagnosed with impingement in the back of the elbow joint... Surgery was performed by Texas Rangers team physician Dr. Keith Meister...Began a throwing program in early January.
2015
Began the season at AA Akron, going 3-2 with a 1.73 ERA (10ER/52.0IP) in 10 starts/appearances...Was promoted to AAA Columbus on June 5 and made three starts for the Clippers, posting a 2.33 ERA (5ER/19.1IP)...Anderson was promoted by the Indians and made his Major League debut on June 21, tossing 7.2 scoreless innings against Tampa Bay (6H, 1BB, 4SO)...In his first four career starts, Anderson went 2-1 with a 0.89 ERA (3ER/30.1IP) and limited opponents to a .165 clip (17-for-103), but posted a 10.19 ERA and an 0-2 record over his next four outings and was placed on the 15-day DL (L Oblique Strain) on Aug. 8...Anderson was activated from the DL on Aug. 26 and over his final seven starts of the season, he went 5-0 and boasted a 1.66 ERA (8ER/43.1IP), lowering his ERA to an MLB rookie-low 3.05...Went 5-0 with a 1.38 ERA in six September starts (39.0IP, 29H, 6ER), joining Corey Kluber (Sept. 2014) as the only two Indians pitchers to win A.L. According to Elias, Anderson became just the 7th pitcher in Cleveland franchise history to log more than 7.0 scoreless innings in a Major League debut of June 21 vs. Tampa Bay...His 13.2 scoreless innings streak to begin his career was snapped by a Grady Sizemore HR in the 7th inning on June 29...Anderson became just the third Indians pitcher in the Expansion Era (since 1961) to allow one-or-zero runs over 7.0+ innings in each of his first two MLB starts, joining Luis Tiant in 1964 and Dennis Eckersley in 1975 (Elias)...The right-hander logged a career-high 8.0 innings in consecutive starts on June 29 and July 4, tossing his first complete game at Pittsburgh in the latter outing (8.0IP, 6H, 1R/ER, 0BB, 4SO)...Marked the first complete game thrown by an Indians rookie since Oct. 2, 2010 at Chicago-AL when Carlos Carrasco took a 6-2 loss to the White Sox in a rain-shortened 6.0-inning affair...First complete game of at least 8.0 innings by a Tribe rookie since Sept. 24, 2010 (Tomlin)...Anderson was the first pitcher in the Majors to log 7.2+ innings in each of his first 3 career starts since Pittsburgh's Tim Wakefield (4 straight) in 1992 - first in the A.L. since 1988 when 7 different pitchers accomplished the feat...Is the first Indians pitcher dating back to at least 1914 to log 7.0+ innings while allowing one-or-zero runs in each of his first 3 career starts - first in A.L. and Majors to do so since Oakland's Rich Harden pulled the trick in 3 straight after making his MLB debut in July of 2003...The California native became the first MLB pitcher dating back to at least 1914 to toss at least 6.2 innings while allowing one-run-or-fewer runs in his first 4 career appearances...Just the second Tribe pitcher to go at least 6.2+ innings in his first 4 career appearances, joining RHP Mudcat Grant who accomplished the feat in 1958...Underwent an emergency appendectomy on Dec. 15 in Glendale, Arizona after an acute onset of lower abdominal pain...The arthroscopic surgery was performed by Dr. Kevin Potter at the St. Joseph's Westgate Medical Center.

Spent season in Double-A Akron, going 4-11 w/ a 5.44 ERA in 25 starts (125.2IP , 141H, 76E R, 45BB, 81K )...Season was marred by four starts of at least seven earned runs allowed...Did enjoy 10 starts of at least 4.0 innings with one run (or less) allowed), including a five-start stretch from July 7-August 14 where he was 2-1 w/a 2.16 ERA (25.0IP , 21H, 6R/E R)... Lefties batted .345 (80-232) off him with a .995 OPS...Entered 2014 season ranked as the fifth-best prospect in the entire Indians organization by Baseball America... Added to the 40-man roster on November 20...Named 10th-best prospect in the Indians system entering 2015 (Baseball America).
2013
Was named the 2013 Cleveland Indians Minor League Pitcher of the Year after going a combined 9-4 with a 2.65 ERA in 26 starts between Carolina and Akron (136.0IP , 121H, 40E R, 40BB, 122K )...Was promoted to Double-A on 8/15...His 10.29 base runners per 9.0IP was second-lowest in the Carolina League...Named to both the Midseason and Postseason CL All-Star teams before being tabbed the Carolina League Pitcher of the Year at year's end...Cody was also named the 2013 winner of the Matt Minker Community Service Award, an award that is presented to a Carolina League player who best serves his club's community during each regular season...Was an MILB.COM organizational All-Star selection.
