Daniel McGee Robert…selected by Texas in the 21st round of the 2017 MLB Draft, but did not sign as a draftee, rather as a free agent on 5/10/18…played four seasons at Auburn University, where he was primarily a position player…also had 14 mound appearances in college…batted .283 with 11 HR and 104 RBI in 196 total games…prepped at Briarwood Christian School in Hoover, Ala…father, Greg, was a football letterman at Auburn from 1968-69.

2024

Ascended to the big leagues to make his Major League debut following five seasons in the Minors, posting a 3.18 ERA (2 ER/5.2 IP) in four relief appearances across two stints with the Rangers…fanned 11 batters in 7.2 innings with a 1.17 ERA in eight Cactus League games before beginning the season with Round Rock…went 3-1, 2.35 ERA (8 ER/30.2 IP) with 40 strikeouts (11.7 SO/9) in 25 appearances for the Express from 3/31-7/6 around a brief stay on Round Rock’s 7-day Injured List (4/18-5/8 – right AC joint sprain)…had contract selected by Texas on 7/8 and made MLB debut 7/10 at LAA, striking out 2 batters in 1.2 innings while surrendering a 2-run homer to Zach Neto…turned in scoreless appearances vs. BAL on 7/19 (1.0 IP) and 7/20 (2.0 IP), including throwing a season-high 46 pitches on 7/20… was optioned to Round Rock on 7/21, accumulating a 3.55 ERA (5 ER/12.2 IP) in 10 games with Express from 8/4-9/20…was also on Round Rock’s Injured List, 8/7-24 (right elbow injury)… recalled by TEX on 9/27 and made his 4th career appearance that same day at LAA, striking out two in a scoreless inning and earning his first career win in the Rangers’ 5-2 victory…set career marks in innings pitched (43.1) and strikeouts (52) with Round Rock, sporting a 2.70 ERA (13 ER/43.1 IP) at the Triple-A level and improving his SO/9 (10.8) and BB/9 (2.7) ratios from 2023 (10.7 SO/9, 4.8 BB/9).

2023

Returned to Round Rock (AAA) and went 1-2, 4.40 ERA (21 ER/43.0 IP) with 51 strikeouts (10.7 SO/9) over 28 appearances/2 starts…logged career highs in innings and strikeouts…allowed just three home runs (0.63 HR/9)…posted a 6.43 ERA (10 ER/14.0 IP) over first 11 G and a 3.41 ERA (11 ER/29.0 IP) across final 17 G (beg. 6/29)…made first two starts of his career on 7/25 at El Paso (L, 2.2 IP, 2 R-ER) and 7/30 at El Paso (ND, 2.0 IP, 0 R)…had three stints on Round Rock’s Development List (4/20-5/29, 8/16-25, 8/29-9/4).

2022

Spent entire season with Round Rock with a 4-4 record and 6.28 ERA (37 ER/48 IP) across his career high 37 appearances and 38.2 IP in 2022…enjoyed a strong month of July, allowing just two ER over his 8.1 IP while punching out 12 of his season-total 48 on the season…first 15 G: .265 opp BA, last 22 G: .179 opp BA…appeared in the Arizona Fall League as part of the Surprise Saguaros, pitching in eight G and posting a 9.64 ERA (10 ER/9.1 IP).

2021

Combined to go 0-1, 2.78 (7 ER/22.2 IP) with a 0.926 WHIP for 3 Texas affiliates, posting just 5 walks against 42 strikeouts…opponents slashed .191/.244/.333/.578 with just 6 XBH…was on the IL from 5/10-8/4 with a right wrist contusion… made one app. each with both ACL Rangers (8/3) and Hickory (8/7) after return from IL, then made Double-A debut on 8/11 at NW Arkansas…over 1st 11 G with Frisco, had a 0.53 ERA (1 R-ER/17.0 IP) with 3 BB/31 SO…in season finale on 9/19 at Amarillo, gave up walk-off 3-R HR in 10th inning of game with potential playoff implications for the RoughRiders (0.1 IP, 2 H, 4 R-3 ER, HR).
