Signed by the Minnesota Twins as a non-drafted free agent July 2, 2014…Signed by Fred Guerrero...Acquired by the Braves from the Minnesota Twins in exchange for LHP Jaime García, C Anthony Recker and cash considerations July 24, 2017.

2023

Did not pitch this past season after undergoing season-ending Tommy John surgery in 2022. Underwent successful surgery on Sept. 7, 2022 to reconstruct the ulnar collateral ligament in his right arm, and missed the remainder of the 2022 season...The procedure was performed by Dr. Keith Meister in Arlington, Texas.

2022

Made just two starts for Atlanta, going 0-2 with a 13.50 ERA (10 ER/6.2 IP) and six walks against eight strikeouts...Was optioned to Triple-A Gwinnett on April 18 and went on to make 18 appearances and 17 starts with the Stripers, going 5-6 with a 5.68 ERA (49 ER/77.2 IP)…He fanned 87 batters in 77.2 innings, walking 35...Underwent successful surgery on Sept. 7 to reconstruct the ulnar collateral ligament in his right arm, and missed the remainder of the season…The procedure was performed by Dr. Keith Meister in Arlington, Texas.

Made a career-most 17 starts and appeared in 18 total games, going 4-6 with a 4.05 ERA (41 ER/91.0 IP) and striking out exactly 100 batters...Opened the season going 4-1 with a 2.23 ERA (10 ER/40.1 IP) over his first eight games, including seven starts...In his ninth game, May 16 at Milwaukee, allowed nine hits and five runs over 4.1 innings, and fractured his pitching hand following his exit...Missed 81 games on the Injured List before returning Aug. 17 at Miami...In nine games after his return, went 0-4 with a 5.05 ERA (26 ER/46.1 IP), despite holding opponents to just a .231 average...Made nine starts at Truist Park, going 3-3 and pitching to a 2.88 ERA (16 ER/50.0 IP) while allowing opponents to bat just .182...In nine total games on the road, including eight starts, went 1-3 with a 5.49 ERA (25 ER/41.0 IP) and yielding a. 270 batting average...For his career, has an ERA over two points lower at home than on the road...Has a 3.75 ERA in 62.1 career innings at Truist Park, and a 5.91 ERA over 53.1 innings on the road...Won four consecutive games between April 23 -May 9, going 4-0 with a 1.11 ERA (3 ER/24.1 IP)...During that stretch he was sporting a 1.11 ERA on the mound and a 1.300 slugging percentage at the plate... He drove in more runs at the plate (6) than he allowed (4) during that stretch...Per Stats Perform, Ynoa was the first player to have a 1.300+ slugging percentage and a sub-1.30 ERA over a span of four starts (min. 10 PA) since Babe Ruth in 1916...Became the first pitcher in Atlanta franchise history to homer in back-to-back games in which they had an at-bat, and the first to do so at all for the franchise since Lew Burdette and Warren Spahn each did so within a nine-day span in June, 1961Per Stats Perform, Ynoa became the first pitcher to go 4-0 with at least six hits and six RBI over a four-start span since the Mets’ Dwight Gooden did so over his last four starts of the 1985 season...In his first start at Truist Park this season, April 12 vs. Miami, allowed just three hits and one run over a career-most 6.0 innings...Struck out 10 Marlins batters, a new career-high total...Ynoa became just the 10th player in franchise history since 1900 to have a 10-strikeout game within his first 15 career appearances, and the first since Max Fried struck out 11 Cardinals on June 30, 2018...The Braves did not have a starter record 10 strikeouts last season, with Max Fried being the last to do so Aug. 30, 2019 vs. the White Sox (11 Ks).

2020

Made five starts and appeared in nine total games in his second major-league season with Atlanta, pitching to a 5.82 ERA (14 ER/21.2 IP) without a decision...His five starts tied for fourth most in the Braves rotation...Pitched to a 8.53 ERA (12 ER/12.2 IP) in five starts and a 2.00 ERA (2 ER/9.0 IP in four relief appearances...Set new single-game career highs in strikeouts (5) and innings pitched (4.0) during his start against Baltimore on September 15... Three out of his four relief appearances were of at least 2.0 innings.

POSTSEASON

Appeared in Game 3 of the NLCS and threw 4.0 shutout innings with four strikeouts while holding Los Angeles to just one hit in his postseason debut...His relief appearance came after Game 3 starter Kyle Wright and reliever Grant Dayton surrendered a combined 11 runs in the first inning.

2019

Made his major league debut and appeared in two games with Atlanta, pitching to an 18.00 ERA (6 ER/3.0 IP) and striking out three... Was recalled from Triple-A Gwinnett on 6/15 and made his debut the next day vs. Philadelphia, pitching 2.0 scoreless innings…Struck out Rhys Hoskins for his first major league strikeout... Pitched in 26 games, including 17 starts, across three levels of the minors, appearing with High-A Florida, Double-A Mississippi and Triple-A Gwinnett... Combined to go 4-8 with a 5.09 ERA (55 ER/97.1 IP) between the three levels, striking out 110 over 97.1 innings... Opened the season with the Fire Frogs before transferring to Mississippi on 4/19…Was promoted to Gwinnett on 5/13.

2018

Combined to go 8-12 with a 4.56 ERA (59 ER/116.1 IP) in 24 starts between Single-A Rome and High-A Florida ... Ranked in the Top 10 among Atlanta farmhands in wins (T5th, 8) and strikeouts (6th, 131) ... Entered the year tabbed by Baseball America as Atlanta's No. 25 prospect ... Had his contract selected by Atlanta on 11/20.

2017

Made 13 starts in the Appalachian League across two different organizations, combining to go 0-4 with a 5.26 ERA (30 ER/51.1 IP) and 50 strikeouts between Elizabethton of the Twins system and Danville of the Braves ... Acquired by Atlanta from the Twins on 7/24 in exchange for LHP Jaime García, C Anthony Recker and cash considerations ... Was rated as Minnesota's No. 22 prospect at the time he was acquired ... Completed exactly 25.2 innings and allowed 15 earned runs with each organization.
