Appeared in 17 games with the Royals over six separate stints: 5/8, 5/9-13, 5/17-28, 7/14-17, 8/3-10 and 8/23 through the end of the season...Made all seven starts at catcher...Royals pitchers recorded a 5.92 ERA (48 ER/73.0 IC) when he was behind the plate...threw out 1-5 (20.0 percent) of attempted base-stealers...Collected his first hit of the season on 8/26 vs. San Diego...reached base safely a career-high three times on 8/28 vs. the Padres, going 2-4 with a walk and run scored...Also played in 42 games with Class AA Northwest Arkansas.

2021

Played in 17 games for the Royals in his first Major League season, making each appearance (9 starts) behind the plate...Made his Major League debut May 8 vs. the White Sox as the starting catcher...entered as a defensive replacement for Salvador Perez in his second appearance May 11 at Detroit and reached on a two-out error, before coming around to score on Jorge Soler’s game-tying double...Recalled from Triple-A Omaha on June 20 for his second big league stint...on June 24 at the Yankees, Sebastian recorded his first Major League hit with an RBI double off Jameson Taillon in the fifth inning, which accounted for the Royals’ lone run in the game...Recorded his first RBI before his first big league hit, as he drew a bases-loaded walk off Aroldis Chapman in the ninth inning the day before at Yankee Stadium, sending home the tying run...Rivero was optioned on July 16 and remained with Omaha until recall on Sept. 4, then was optioned on Sept. 21 and recalled for the final time Oct. 1…in the final month of the season, Rivero appeared in nine games (5 starts) and batted .227 (5-for-22) with a double and an RBI...Threw out Cleveland’s Franmil Reyes attempting to steal third base on Sept. 20 (G2), earning his first career caught stealing (out of 6 attempts)... Appeared in 42 games with Triple-A Omaha and batted .260/.319/.380 (39-for-150) with seven doubles, one triple and three home runs.

Spent the entire regular season at Alternate Site in Kansas City, Kan....was a non-roster invite to Major League Spring Training for the second-straight year, appearing in five Cactus League games...Also participated in the club’s postseason camp at Kauffman Stadium... Selected to the 40-man roster on Nov. 20.

2019

Played a majority of the year with Wilmington (A+)…made his Triple-A debut with Omaha on May 27, going 3-for-8 (.375) with three runs scored in three games...Posted a .981 fielding percentage overall (12 errors, 637 chances), while he threw out 20-of-50 (40.0 percent) would-be basestealers…his 20 runners caught stealing ranked 10th in the Carolina League...Recorded a career-high four hits on April 11 at Carolina, going 4-for-5 with a solo homer and three RBI...Collected the second triple of his career on May 18 at Potomac…marked his first since Aug. 30, 2017 at Bristol (with Burlington), spanning 369 at-bats in-between.

2018

Spent his third professional season with Lexington (A), setting career highs in games (77), at-bats (279), runs (41), hits (72), doubles (16), homers (7), RBI (34) and total bases (109)...Named a South Atlantic League midseason All-Star…caught the final three innings for the North   Division...Posted a .991 fielding percentage for the year (5 errors in 549 chances), while he threw out 19-of-54 (35.2 percent) of would-be basestealers...Scored a career-high four runs and also collected four RBI to match a career-high, July 2 at Asheville…went 3-for-3 with a double and a homer in the game.

2017

Played the whole year with Burlington (Rookie), batting .265/.288/.381 (50-for-189) with eight doubles, a triple, four homers and 28 RBI…his RBI total ranked sixth among Appalachian League catchers.

2016

In his first professional season, split time between the Dominican Royals and Surprise (Rookie)…combined to hit .280/.312/.342 (45-for-161) with 10 doubles and 24 RBI.
