In 13 games during Spring Training, hit .333 (12-for-36) with a 1.052 OPS, three 2B, three HR, and nine RBI. Made his second Opening Day roster (also 2021) and his first Opening Day start (1B). Hit a go-ahead solo HR in the 6th inning on 4/10 at NYY, giving the Sox their decisive lead in the 4-3 win, their first victory of 2022. On 4/23 at TB, gave the Sox a 1-0 lead with an RBI triple in the 10th inning, the club’s first hit in their 3-2 loss. Recorded six RBI over his 10 games from 5/19-29...Hit an RBI single in the fifth inning on 5/21 vs. SEA, the 100th RBI of his career...Became the 23rd player to reach 100 career RBI in 193 games or fewer, all with BOS. In 35 games from 5/26-7/9, batted .271 (26-for-96) with an .801 OPS, 13 R, three 2B, five HR, and 14 RBI.
