Graduated from Seven Lakes High School in Katy, Texas...is the son of Mike Capel, who from 1988-1991 went 3-4, 4.62 with three saves in 49 relief appearances for the Cubs, Brewers and Astros...is the godson of Roger Clemens, who was a teammate of Mike Capel at the University of Texas.

From 4/17-4/23 hit .400 during a career-high seven-game hitting streak (2 2b, 1sb)...Following the season elected free agency...on 12/26 was signed by the Reds to a Minor League contract.

Spent most of the season at Triple-A Memphis in the St. Louis organization but made his Major League debut with the Cardinals in June and also played in 13 games for the A’s following a Sept. 9 waiver claim…hit .176 in nine games with St. Louis and .371 with Oakland…batted a combined .308 with three home runs, 11 RBI and an .875 OPS in 22 games overall...Made all 17 of his starts in games in which the opponent started a right-handed pitcher and hit .300 (15-for-50) with a .847 OPS against righties…was 1-for-2 (.500) with two walks against left-handers...Had a .333 batting average with runners in scoring position…however, batted .343 with the bases empty, .235 with runners on...Hit .458 with two of his three home runs and eight of his 11 RBI in eight games in the Coliseum, .179 in 14 games four games with Memphis and six with Las Vegas…his double on Sept. 4 at Nashville was the 100th of his Minor League career…was designated for assignment on Sept. 7 and claimed off waivers by the A’s on Sept. 9 and assigned to Las Vegas…went 9-for-28 (.321) in seven games with the Aviators before he was recalled by Oakland on Sept. 20…hit safely in each of his first five games with the A’s, going 9-for-18 (.500) with two home runs and seven RBI…then went 4-for-17 (.235) with two RBI over his final eight contests…was 3-for-5 with a triple, home run and four RBI Sept. 24 against New York (NL), logging career highs in hits and RBI…homered again the next day against the Mets and drove in three runs…stole the first base of his career in the final game of the season Oct. 5 vs. Los Angeles Ranked among Cardinals minor league leaders in games (T-4th, 117), at-bats (369, 10th), triples (4, T-5th), home runs (14, T-8th), walks (43, T-9th), total bases (162, T-9th)…Finished T-9th in the Triple-A East in triples...Appeared defensively in 41 games in right field, 35 games in center field, and 34 games in left field... Struck out 81 times against 43 walks... Played 114 of 117 games in Memphis (AAA). Also played three games in Springfield (AA) in mid-May... Hit .296/.414/.519 (24-81) with five home runs, 15 RBI, 17 walks, and a .933 OPS in 26 games in the month of July... His 17 walks in July were more than twice as many during any other month of the season and tied for 5th-most in the Triple-A East... Hit cleanup in 29 games, his most of any position in the lineup, batting .336/.381/.654 (36-107) with a 1.036 OPS... Batted .346 (18-52) on the first pitch of his at-bats.

2020

Played 27 games for Team Texas of the Constellation Energy League, managed by Roger and Koby Clemens. Batted .200 (17-85) with three doubles, a triple, a home run and six RBI. The CEL was a four-team independent league created due to the COVID protocols.
