Chavez Young (sha-VEZ)...Was born in Freeport, Bahamas....Is a 2016 graduate of Faith Baptist (GA) Christian Academy....Spent the summer of 2020 working out and fishing at home in the Bahamas since there was no Minor League season....Was next-door neighbors with Pirates prospect Tahnaj Thomas growing up...The pair would ride together to baseball practice in the front seat of Tahnaj's dad's corvette.
2022
Entered the season rated as having the “Best Outfield Arm” in Toronto’s minor league system for the fourth straight year according to Baseball America… Attended spring training as a non-roster invitee with Toronto…Was placed on the seven-day injured list with Triple-A Buffalo on 4/5…Began a rehab assignment with Low-A Dunedin on 5/14…Played in five games with Dunedin before being reinstated from the injured list on 5/24…Recorded multiple stolen bases on five occasions during the season, including a season-high three on 6/25 vs. St. Paul…Was successful in each of his first 17 stolen base attempts between Dunedin and Buffalo before being caught stealing for the only time on 7/30…Was placed on the seven-day injured list on 8/23 and missed the remainder of the season…Made 43 appearances (42 starts) in center field, 15 appearances (15 starts) in right field and seven appearances (seven starts) in left field at the Triple-A level…Played for Indios De Mayaguez in the Liga de Béisbol Profesional de Puerto Rico Roberto Clemente following the season.

Appeared in 11 Spring Training games, going 3-for-14 (.214) with a triple, two RBI, a walk and seven strikeouts...Spent the 2021 season at Double-A New Hampshire, batting .265 (74-for-279) with 15 doubles, two triples, seven home runs and 52 RBI (.758 OPS)...His 52 RBI were tied for the second most among Fisher Cat hitters, trailing only Vinny Capra (58 RBI).
2020
Spent the summer back at home in the Bahamas, working out and fishing... Took part in Toronto’s Fall Development League in Dunedin, FL... Played for Canberra in the Australian Baseball League but was limited to eight games due to injury.

Promoted to Advanced-A Dunedin for the 2019 season...Played in 111 contests while keeping a .247 batting average and a .315 on-base percentage.
2018
Played all 125 games in 2018 for Class-A Lansing, splitting his time almost evenly between center and right field...Named a Midwest League Mid-Season All-Star as he slashed .285/.363/.445...Finished 2nd in the league with 33 doubles and ranked T-2nd in triples (9) and 6th in hits (134).
