Eric lives in Hudson, Fla...Graduated in 2018 from Ecole Secondaire Catholique Sainte-Trinite in Ontario, Canada, where he played baseball, hockey and volleyball...Selected by the Tampa Bay Rays in the 30th round of the 2018 Draft, but chose to attend Mississippi State University...Selected in the eighth round of the 2016 Ontario Hockey League draft...Pitched for the Great Lake Canadians program in 2015 and was coached by former big leaguer Adam Stern, a Royals amateur scout in Canada...Only three Canadian-born pitchers have appeared in a game with the Royals: Jeff Francis, Ryan Braun and Paul Spoljaric.

Spent the entire season with Triple-A Omaha and made a career-high 38 appearances (one start), despite having two stints on the Injured List...Held left-handers to a .181 average (15-for-83) with 37 strikeouts (13.5 K/9)...Ended the season with 12.1 consecutive scoreless innings over 10 appearances, during which he had 19 strikeouts and just three walks...Made 12 appearances for Aguilas in the Dominican Winter League and went 2-0 with a 1.50 ERA (2 ER in 12.0 IP) with 16 strikeouts (12.0 K/9).

2024

Began the 2024 season at Double-A Northwest Arkansas and was promoted to Triple-A Omaha in August...Recorded at least two innings in 14 of his 37 outings...Matched a career-high with 10 strikeouts in four innings of relief on April 26 at Tulsa...Had a streak of 14 scoreless innings over three appearances from May 3-16, during which he allowed just six hits and recorded 17 strikeouts.
