Steward Berroa... Grew up enjoying watching Derek Jeter and Jose Reyes... Signed with the Blue Jays as a 17-year old international free agent in 2016... Across his seven professional seasons, has appeared defensively at all three outfield positions as well as second base... Over a four-season stretch from 2021-24, racked up 192 stolen bases across both the Major and Minor Leagues, the fifth-most among all professional players over that span, and one more than his current Blue Jays teammate Jonatan Clase.

2024

Between the Majors and Triple-A, hit .269 (80-for-297) with 10 doubles, three triples, 10 home runs, 48 RBI, 40 stolen bases, a 12.5% walk rate, a 24.6% strikeout rate, a .366 OBP, a .348 wOBA and a .791 OPS...Selected to the Major League roster for the first time on June 23... Made his MLB debut on June 23 at CLE, entering in the ninth as a CF....Recalled to the MLB roster on July 3 & Sept. 17...Recorded his first career MLB hit on July 27 vs. TEX with a double off RHP Dane Dunning in the sixth inning...On Aug. 12 at LAA, notched a career-high three walks, the first Blue Jays nine-hole hitter to walk three times in a single game since Richard Urena on Sept. 3, 2017 at BAL...Recorded singles in the second and seventh innings on Sept. 28 vs. MIA, finishing the game 2-for-4, his first career multi-hit game...In 79 games with Triple-A Buffalo this season, hit .281 (73-for-260) with nine doubles, three triples, 10 home runs, 47 RBI, 35 walks, 34 stolen bases, a .371 OBP and an .825 OPS...At the time of his recall on July 3, led the International League with 30 stolen bases...Played in 17 games at MLB Spring Training, recording three total hits with a home run and five RBI.

2023

Began the season with Double-A New Hampshire, playing 103 games for the FisherCats before earning a promotion to Triple-A Buffalo in August (22G)...Combined to hit .257 (95-for-369) with 24 doubles, two triples, seven home runs and 43 RBI...His .758 OPS on the year was the highest of his career (.757 in 2021)...Stole 47 bases on the season, trailing only Cam Eden (53) for the most among Blue Jays farmhands...Has swiped at least 47 bags in each of his last three seasons, racking up an organization-high 152 steals over that span (2nd: Eden - 119).

2022

In 2022, played 60 games for High-A Vancouver before receiving a midseason call up to New Hampshire for 21 contests...Combined to hit .211 (57-for-270) with 11 doubles, seven triples, seven homers, 27 RBI, and 47 stolen bases.

2021

Spent the majority of the 2021 campaign with Single-A Dunedin (82G) before playing a trio of contests with Double-A New Hampshire...Combined to hit .247 (71-for-288) with 13 doubles, five triples, seven homers, and 40 RBI...His 58 steals ranked third among all Minor League hitters, trailing only Jayce Easley (70) and Eddy Diaz (59)...Named a Dunedin postseason All-Star.
