Andy Thomas #66

Andy always played catcher. His father, Robert, said he started catching when he was three or four-years old. Andy told Seattle Sports Union that his favorite players growing up were Buster Posey and Yadier Molina. Played parts of five seasons at Baylor (2017-2021). Was a first-team All-Big 12 selection as a junior in 2019 and was on the Buster Posey Award watchlist for 2020 before the season was canceled. Came back in 2021 and was a finalist for the Posey Award, hitting .337 with a team-best 11 homers and 60 RBI.

2023

Finished tied for ninth in Eastern League with 63 RBI after playing the entire year at Double-A Richmond. Played in a career-high 110 games...also had a career-high 49 runs, 86 hits, 15 doubles, 11 home runs and 63 RBI. Received his first invitation to Major League Spring Training...saw action in four Cactus League games.

2022

Spent his entire first full pro season in the High-A Northwest League between Everett and Eugene... Welcomed by the Giants on Aug. 2 along with RHP Michael Stryffeler...C Curt Casali and LHP Matthew Boyd went to Seattle in return... Played his final 24 regular-season games with Eugene and also played in their three postseason games... Suited up for Scottsdale in the Arizona Fall League and appeared in 12 games...went 6-for-33 (.182) with four RBI in those 12 games.
