Single...Graduated in 2017 from South Hills High School in West Covina, Calif… helped guide the Huskies to the CIF Southern Section Championship in 2016... His grandfather, Frank Amaya, played five seasons in the Dodgers (1955-58) and Reds (1959) minor-league systems.

2024

Played in a career-high 24 games between the White Sox and Houston … made 23 appearances (21 starts) at shortstop and one at second base...Spent most of the season with Class AAA Sugar Land while also making one appearance with the Astros...Began the season at Class AAA Jacksonville in the Miami organization, playing in three games, before being designated for assignment on 4/2 … was traded to the Astros on 4/6 in exchange for RHP Valente Bellozo and cash...Was recalled by Houston on 5/1 and made his lone appearance with the Astros on 5/7 at New York-AL as a defensive replacement (0-for-1) … was optioned to Sugar Land on 5/10...Hit .323/.417/.436 (20-for-62) with two home runs, eight RBI and a .852 OPS in June with the Space Cowboys...Was designated for assignment on 8/24 and claimed off waivers by the White Sox on 8/26...Made his Sox debut on 8/30 vs. New York-NL, going 0-3 as the starting shortstop … recorded a career-high, five-game hitting streak from 9/2-8 (.353, 6-for-27)...Collected a career-high two hits on 9/3 at Baltimore … drove in a run in back-to-back games on 9/6-8 at Boston...Snapped a career-high 0-for-14 streak on 9/26 vs. Los Angeles-AL with a single in the fifth inning.

Jacob Amaya (Ah-MY-ah) played in four games for Miami during one stint in the Majors from June 17-26...Was recalled by Miami on June 17 and made his Major League debut on June 18 at WSH, batting ninth and playing shortstop for the Marlins...Went 1-for-3 with a run scored, one RBI and a stolen base in his debut...Became the second player in Marlins history to record a hit, stolen base, RBI and score a run in his first career game, joining Jerar Encarnacion on June 19, 2022 at NYM...In his first season with the Marlins organization, hit .252 with a .752 OPS in 128 games with Triple-A Jacksonville...Led the Jumbo Shrimp in games played, runs scored (85), ranked second in doubles (26) and walks (70), ranked third in hits (122), 4th in RBI (65) and home runs (15)...In 118 games played at shortstop for Triple-A Jacksonville, committed 14 errors in 440 total chances (.968 fielding pct.), while committing zero errors in 38 total chances in 10 games at second base... Acquired by Miami from Los Angeles-NL in exchange for SS Miguel Rojas on Jan. 12 and was placed on 40-man roster with an invitation to Major League Spring Training.

Jacob Amaya was named a MiLB.com Organizational All-Star for the Dodgers in 2022, combining for 17 home runs and 71 RBI in 133 games played between Double-A Tulsa and Triple-A Oklahoma City...With Double-A Tulsa, slashed .264/.370/.500 in 49 games...Had 10 doubles, three triples, nine homers and 26 RBI...Walked 32 times and struck out 29...His .870 OPS got him a promotion to Triple-A on June 14...Hit a grand slam in his third game with the Oklahoma City Dodgers on June 16. Went 2-for-4 with one run scored and five RBI...In 84 games at Triple-A, batted .259 (76-for-294) with 46 runs scored, 10 doubles, one triple, eight homers and 45 RBI.

2021

Played with Double-A Tulsa for the whole season, producing a .216 (90-for-417) average across 113 games... Roped 15 doubles, 12 home runs and 47 RBI with 52 walks, totaling a .216/.303/.343/.646 slashline...also matched his 2019 total in stolen bases with five... Ranked amongst the best in Double-A Central League in total games (3rd, 113) and walks (8th, 52)…similarly ranked high on the team in multiple categories: games (1st, 113), at-bats (1st, 417), runs (4th, 60), hits (4th, 90), doubles (T-4th, 15), and home runs (T-5th, 12)... Started 111 games at shortstop, appearing in 969.1 innings with a .950 fielding percentage…committed 20 errors over 399 total chances... Played with the Glendale Desert Dogs during the Fall, appearing in 19 games, batting .333/.463/.556 with three home runs and six RBI 2020... Spent the season at the alternate site on the USC Campus.

2019

Combined to hit .260/.369/.391 over 124 games between Single-A Great Lakes and Advanced-A Rancho Cucamonga...started the season with Great Lakes and hit .262 with 25 doubles, four triples and six home runs in 103 games...was promoted to Advanced-A Rancho Cucamonga on Aug. 7, where he hit .250/.307/.375 with three doubles, two triples and one home run in 21 games… had success against left-handed pitchers, batting .278 with two doubles and one doubles...on Sept. 6, he hit a walk-off home run against Lake Elsinore during game three of the California League playoffs… the solo shot was his second of the game, as he recorded the first multi-homer performance of his professional career.

2018

In 59 games with Single-A Great Lakes and Rookie level Ogden, he hit .311/.432/.436 with ten doubles, three triples and four home runs...was selected as a Pioneer League Mid-Season All-Star after hitting .346 with nine doubles, three triples, three home runs and 24 RBI in 32 first half games with the Raptors...was promoted to Single A Great Lakes on Aug. 1, where he hit .265 with a double, a home run and five RBI.

2017

Spent his first professional season with the Arizona League Dodgers, where he batted .254/.364/.356 with four doubles, one triple, two home runs and 14 RBI in 34 games.
