James Outman… married wife, Dasha, in Dec. 2022 and welcomed a daughter Avery in Aug. 2024…played three seasons of college ball at Sacramento State, where he was selected Academic All-WAC in 2018…was a two-sport star, baseball and football, at Junipero Serra High School in San Mateo, Calif…Selected by the Dodgers in the seventh round of the 2018 First-Year Player Draft.

2023

Named an Opening Day starter for the Dodgers and played 151 games, garnering a .248/.353/.437 slashline with 16 doubles, three triples, 23 home runs, 16 doubles and 70 RBI...Blasted a two-run homer for his first hit of the season on Opening Day against Arizona... Blasted his first career grand slam on April 20 against the Cubs, a go ahead shot in the top of the ninth off RHP Michael Fulmer…first career multi-home run game...Tallied his second grand slam of the year on May 17 against the Twins, another go ahead homer, off RHP Emilio Pagán in the bottom of the seventh inning... Awarded National League Rookie of the Month honors for April after slashing .292/.376/.615 with seven home runs, three triples, four stolen bases, 20 runs batted in, 17 runs scored and a 164 wRC+…He led all Major League rookies in home runs, triples, extra-base hits (14), slugging percentage and OPS (.991)…He led the National League in RBI, the first Dodgers rookie to drive in 20 runs in a month since Cody Bellinger in September 2017…His seven home runs were the most-ever by a Dodgers rookie in April, and the most by a Dodgers rookie in any month since teammate Will Smith hit eight home runs in August 2019...Continued to display his clutch gene with his first career walk-off hit and RBI, a walk-off RBI double on July 25 against the Blue Jays... Made stops at Double-A Tulsa (68 G), Triple-A Oklahoma City (57 G) and the Los Angeles Dodgers (4 G)…garnered a Minor League batting average of .294 (139-for-473) and a Major League average of .462 (6-for-13)...Set career-highs in games (125), at bats (473), runs (101), hits (139), total bases (277), doubles (31), home runs (31), RBI (106) and walks (70)...With Double-A Tulsa, he punched 17 doubles, 16 home runs, 45 RBI and a .295 average in 68 games...With Triple-A Oklahoma City, he slashed .292/.390/.627 with 133 total bases… he hit for the cycle twice in the span of four days...In the Majors, he went 6-for-13 in four games with two doubles, one home run, 11 total bases and three RBI...Made his Major League debut on July 31 at Colorado, going 3-for-4 with a single, double, and homer...Became the eighth Dodger and fourth Los Angeles Dodger to homer in his first Major at-bat: Clise Dudley (1929), Gordon Slade (1930), Ernie Koy (1938), Dan Bankhead (1947), Jose Offerman (1990), Garey Ingram (1994), Keibert Ruiz (2020)...Was the PCL Player of the week for Aug. 22-28… batted 12-for-21 with 10 extra-base hits, including hitting for the cycle August 26th...Split his time in the outfield in the Minors, getting most of his starts (55 G) in right field with a fielding percentage of .983… committing only two errors. Hit for the cycle twice this season with OKC, both in the span of four days, Aug. 26 and 30…clubbed his best month in August with OKC, slashing .447/.531/1.132 with six doubles, four triples, four home runs, and 22 RBI… had eight-game hitting streaks twice this season, May 6-13 with Tulsa and June 23- July 2 (June 23-28 with Tulsa, June 30- July 2 with OKC)… tied for fifth in the Pacific Coast League in triples with six.

2021

Split his time between Single-A Great Lakes and Double-A Tulsa, playing in 104 combined games for a .266 average (110-for-414)... Set career-highs in doubles (21), triples (9), stolen bases (23), walks (63), runs (90), hits (110), and total bases (203)... With Single-A Great Lakes, the California native slashed .250/.385/.472 with 117 total bases and 21 stolen bases…was identical against righties and lefties, batting .250... With Double-A Tulsa, the righty slugged nine doubles, batted in 24 runs, and smashed nine longballs…hit .253 (19-for-75) in the month of September... Went 3-for-5 with three runs score on Aug. 4 with Tulsa, clubbing a double, two home runs, two RBI and ten total bases... Recognized as an AA Central Offensive Player of the Week in August with Tulsa…also earned honors as a Rising Star in the Arizona Fall League with the Glendale Desert Dogs.

2020

Did not participate in the 2020 season after the Minor League season was cancelled.

2024

Played 53 games with the big-league club, hitting .147 (20-for-136) with four home runs and 11 RBI...Spent a majority of the season with Triple-A Oklahoma City, slashing .279/.390/.543 in 69 games with 15 doubles, 17 home runs and 46 RBI in 69 games...Blasted a three-run home run on April 9 at MIN, finishing the day 2-for-4 with a run and three RBI.
