Experienced a bumpy campaign that involved two Injured List stints and time spent with three Texas affiliates: Round Rock (AAA), ACL Rangers (Rk.) and Frisco (AA)…combined for a 7.20 ERA (24 ER/30.0 IP) with 38 SO/29 BB in 27 relief appearances and was on Round Rock’s 7-day IL twice (4/22-5/12 with right shoulder inflammation, 6/12-8/11 with left hip inflammation), the first of which included a two-game rehab assignment with ACL Rangers 5/8-12 (2.1 IP, 0 R across two games)…spent most of the first ‘half’ with Round Rock (10.13 ERA in 16 IP/12 games from 3/28-6/1) but was returned to Frisco on 8/12 following his second stint on IL… finished the year strong, as he did not permit an earned run in his final nine outings of the year (8.0 IP) for Frisco (seven games) and Round Rock (two games) from 8/26-9/20…was elevated back to AAA on 9/16 and struck out the side in his last appearance of the season, 9/20 at SAC with RR (1 IP, 3 SO)…multiple SO in 11 of 27 outings, including a season-high four SO in 2.0 SHO IP on 4/1 vs. TOL with RR…also issued 1+ BB in 16 of 27 G and 2+ BB in eight of 27 games…saw action in the Arizona Fall League with Surprise after the season, his second career spell with the Saguaros (also 2023)…pitched to a 2.25 ERA (1 ER/4.0 IP) with six SO/five BB and did not allow a hit across four relief appearances in AFL play… named to the A.L. roster for the AFL Fall Stars Game but did not appear in the exhibition.

The right-hander went 5-4 with a 1.98 ERA (19 ER/86.1 IP) over 20 games/19 starts with Frisco, his first career action at the Double-A level...struck out 110 batters (eighth in Texas League) for an 11.47 strikeouts per 9.0 figure, the second-highest mark in the TL (min. 80.0 IP)…also ranked among TL leaders in home runs per 9.0 (first, 0.42), strikeout pct. Spent the entire season with Hickory (A+), posting a 5-3 record, 4.52 ERA (31 ER/61.2 IP), and 84 strikeouts across 18 games/14 starts…his 12.26 strikeouts per 9.0 innings figure was the seventh-highest mark in the South Atlantic League and ranked fourth among Texas farmhands (min. 60.0 IP) to only Chase Lee (12.36), Brock Porter (12.33), and Jake Latz (12.30)…was 2-3, 5.21 ERA (28 ER/48.1 IP) in 14 starts and 3-0, 2.03 ERA (3 ER/13.1 IP) over four relief outings, but posted a higher strikeouts per 9.0 innings figure as a starter (12.5) than as a reliever (11.5)…opened the campaign on the Injured List with minor right forearm tightness (activated on 5/23)… went 2-1, 4.88 ERA (13 ER/24.0 IP) with 27 SO/15 BB and a .258 opp. BA over first 8 G/5 GS before forgoing his 4-seam fastball for a sinker, and was 3-2, 4.30 ERA (18 ER/37.2 IP) with 57 SO/18 BB and a .213 opp. BA in 10 G/9 GS after making the change (beg. 7/16)…had season-high nine SO in scoreless start on 8/15 vs. Rome (W, 5.0 IP, 2 H, 0 R, 2 BB, 9 SO, 74 pitches/49 strikes)…right-handed batters slashed .203/.319/.364/.683 (24-118) compared to .261/.357/.460/.816 (29-111) by left-handers.
