Bligh John Madris (pronounced “mah-DRISS”)...Is a 2014 graduate of Foothill High School in Henderson, NV...Played three seasons (2015-17) at Colorado Mesa University...Was the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Freshman-of-the-Year in 2015...Hit .422 (92-for-218) with 14 doubles, 17 home runs, 67 RBI and a .757 slugging percentage in 62 games during his final season in 2017...Ranked 10th in the country among Division II players with 67 RBI and eighth with a .757 slugging percentage in 2017...Was named a finalist for the 2017 Tino Martinez Player-of-the-Year (Division II Most Outstanding Player)...Signed by Pirates scout Derrick Van Dusen.

Was named the Pirates organization’s Manny Sanguillen Teammate-of-the-Year for Triple-A Indianapolis...Ranked third among all Pirates minor leaguers in games played and tied for fourth in doubles... Hit .267 (96-for-360) with 25 doubles, nine home runs and 56 RBI in 114 combined games between Double-A Altoona and Indianapolis...Began season with Altoona before being promoted to Triple-A for the remainder of the season on 5/19...Went 13-for-35 (.371) with three doubles, a home run and six RBI in his first 10 games with Indianapolis...
