Selected as the District 27-4A most valuable player in 2004 and 2005... Also a one-year starter and letterman in football... Maintained a 6.2 GPA on a 6.0 scale and received academic all-district awards three years in a row while at MFHS...Played three years at Rice where he majored in economics...Was 4-4 w/a 3.72ERA in 30 games/1 start his junior year (48.1IP, 38H, 20ER, 54K, .216AVG) on a team that advanced to the College World Series.

2013

Enjoyed a breakout season in 2013 between AAA Columbus and AA Akron, recording a 2.04 ERA and 4 saves in 47 games/1 start (75.0IP, 57H, 21R/17ER, 16BB, 92K)...Limited Minor League hitters to a .206 (57-277) average against and averaged 11.0 strikeouts per 9.0IP during his tenure in Akron and Columbus...Began the year at Columbus and made 2 appearances (4/10-12) before being sent to Akron, April 21-May 23...Was with Columbus from May 24th-remainder of season...On the year for the Clippers he averaged 11.44 SO/9.0IP...From June 26 thru the end of the season, covering his last 20 outings, his ERA was 0.48 (37.2IP, 23H, 6R/2ER, 3BB, 43K) to lower his Triple-A ERA from 5.91-2.44...Combined on the year he limited right-handed hitters to a .212 (36-170) as lefties hit .186 (18-97)...Also batters hit a combined .193 (22-114) with runners on base off him and .132 (9-68) with RISP...Finished T3rd in the Venezuelan Winter League (LVB) in saves for Margarita after the season, posting a winter ERA of 1.89 in 15 games (1GS, 19.0IP, 8H, 4ER, 6BB, 19K, .133AVG)...Added to 40-man roster on November 20.

Began the year at Akron and was promoted to AAA Columbus for the second half...Combined ERA of 4.00 in 40 relief appearances (60.2IP, 71H, 31ER, 24BB, 63K).

2010

Converted to relief, spending both the 2010 and 2011 seasons at AA Akron.

2008

Was selected by Boston in the sandwich round (45th overall) as free agent compensation for RHP Eric Gagne signing with Milwaukee.
