**PERSONAL** Chris Chambliss...resides in Alpharetta, Ga., with his wife, Audry...has one son, Russell, who played in the Yankees organization from 1997-99...graduated from Oceanside (Calif.) High School...earned degree in physical education and recreation from Montclair State (NJ) College...also attended Mira Costa JC and UCLA...cousin of former NBA player Jo Jo White. **MANAGING/COACHING CAREER** Entering his 2nd season as the Mariners hitting coach, his 15th year as a big league hitting coach, overall and his 43rd year in pro ball...worked with 26 different hitters at the big league level with Seattle in 2011, including 8 rookies...was ML hitting coach with New York (AL, 1988, 1996-2000), St. Louis (1993-95), New York (NL, 2002) and Cincinnati (2004-2006)...won 4 World Titles as Yankees hitting coach...compiled a 506-490 (.508) record as a minor league manager in 7 seasons...spent the 2009-10 seasons as AAA Charlotte manager...hitting coach with Richmond (AAA) in 2008...minor league hitting coordinator for Mets in 2003...managed Calgary (AAA) in 2001...Richmond (AAA) manager in 1992...named Manager of the Year in 1991 (with AA Greenville in the Southern League) and 1990 (with AA London in the Eastern League)...began managing career with London in 1989. **PLAYING CAREER** Played 17 seasons in the Majors with Cleveland (1971-74), the Yankees (1974-79, 1988) and Atlanta (1980-86), hitting .279 with 185 home runs and 972 RBIs in 2,175 games...Rookie of the Year in 1971 after being drafted by Cleveland in the first round (No. 1 overall) of the 1970 January draft...named to 1976 AL All-Star Team...Gold Glove Award winner at first base in 1978...participated in four ALCS and three World Series, winning consecutive titles with the Yankees in 1977-78...hit game-ending home run in Game 5 of the 1976 ALCS vs. Kansas City, sending Yankees to the World Series.
