Followed that performance with 6.1 scoreless innings on 4/25, surrendering three hits and three walks while striking out eight...His 9.3 SO/9 rate was the second-highest of his career behind 2012 (10.2 SO/9)...Pitched in seven games (three starts) with Tomateros de Culiacan of the Mexican Pacific League, going 0-1 with a 2.05 ERA (6 ER/26.1 IP) and striking out 30.

Signed by Atlanta as a minor-league free agent on 8/14 and was assigned to Gwinnett on 8/27...Spent most of 2012 with Saltillo of the Mexican League, going 11-5 with a 2.54 ERA (33 ER/117.0 IP) in 20 starts, including a complete game...Made Gwinnett and affiliated minor league debut on 8/27 vs. Pawtucket, throwing 3.0 innings in relief, allowed an unearned run (3 BB, 3 K)...Made his first career Triple-A start on 9/1 at Norfolk and allowed a run on five hits (solo HR) over 3.0 innings in a no-decision.
