Batted .256 (77-for-301) with 49R, 16 doubles, 17HR and 52RBI with Single-A Charleston...led the team in home runs, ranking fourth among Yankees farmhands...had his season cut short on 8/12 when he suffered a fractured finger on his left hand...listed as the Yankees' fourth-best prospect following the season by Baseball America...following the season, played with Escogido in the Dominican Winter League (8G, .300, 6-for-20, 3R, 1RBI).
2010
In his first professional season, combined at GCL and short-season Single-A Staten Island to bat .329 (57-for-173) with 33R, 13 doubles, 8HR and 43RBI in 47 games...spent majority of season with the GCL Yankees, hitting .353 (42-for-119) with 11 doubles, 6HR and 36RBI in 31 games...hit safely in each of his first 10 games (.459, 17-for-37)...hit a grand slam in his second pro AB on 6/21 vs. the GCL Pirates...promoted to Staten Island on 8/19, where he hit .278 (15-for-54) with 2HR and 7RBI in 16 games over the remainder of the season...following the season, was named to the Topps Short-Season/Rookie All-Star Team and tabbed by Baseball America as the second-best prospect in the Yankees organization.
