2010

Spent the majority of the season in the majors, combining to hit .167 (19-114) with 2 homers and 5 RBI in 49 games with Houston and Boston...had 48 games/37 starts behind the plate... caught 5 of 43 (11.6%) attempted base stealers...had one pickoff...began the year at Round Rock (AAA) and was recalled by Astros on May 5...played 20 games (18 starts) for Houston before he was designated for assignment on June 22...was outrighted to Round Rock on June 23...acquired by Boston on July 1 in exchange for infielder Angel Sanchez at a time when both Victor Martinez (left thumb fracture) and Jason Varitek (right foot fracture) were on the disabled list for Red Sox...started 15 of 19 games for Red Sox from July 2-24...was on disabled list Aug. 9-23 with a left hamstring strain with rehab stints at Pawtucket (AAA) and Lowell (Short-A)...made just 2 starts for Boston the rest of the way, both on the back end of doubleheaders...in final start on Oct. 2 vs. New York-AL (Game 2), posted game-tying RBI on bases-loaded walk in the 8th inning of a 7-6, 10-inning victory that helped lead to an A.L. 2009

Signed by the Yankees to a minor league deal on Jan. 14...spent Spring Training with the Major league club and hit .286 (8x28) in 15 spring games with New York...assigned to Scranton Wilkes-Barre (AAA) to begin the season...placed on the minor league DL from April 15-May 5...reinstated from the DL three days before his selection to the Yankees MLB roster on May 8...at the time of his selection, was hitting .500 (9x18) with one home and six RBI in seven games...appeared in 10 games for the Yankees from May 12-27, while Jorge Posada was on the Disabled List...hit .231 (6x26) in his time with New York, which included a three-hit game on May 25 at TEX...optioned back to Scranton on May 29...from that point through the end of his season, hit just .120 (6x50) before being placed on the DL on June 29...finished the season on the DL and given his unconditional release on Sept. 10.

2008

Played in a career-high 61 games with Boston, batting .225 with seven doubles, three homers and 15 RBI...appeared on his second career Opening Day roster and made 42 starts behind the plate, including all 30 of Tim Wakefield's starts...threw out 14-of-52 (26.9%) potential basestealers, catching just one of his first 14 (7.1%) and 13 of his final 38 (34.2%)...hit at a .375 (15x40) clip through May 11, but carried just a .179 average (19x106) over the remainder of the season...hit .361 (13x36) against left-handed pitchers...recorded his first career pinch-hit home run on July 9 vs. MIN...entered as a defensive replacement at third base on Sept. 13 vs. Toronto, his first career appearance there...appeared in four postseason games, making one start in Game 4 loss of ALCS vs. Tampa Bay and going 1x3 with a solo homer.

Spent most of his first season in the Red Sox organization with Triple-A Pawtucket, but closed the season in Boston after having his contract purchased on August 17...Got the call-up when Doug Mirabelli was placed on the disabled list with a strained right calf...Started 8 games for the Red Sox down the stretch, including 4 of 7 Tim Wakefield starts...Went 3-for-27 (.111) with a double and 4 RBI in 12 big league games overall...Batted .176 with 7 homers and 25 RBI in 59 games at Pawtucket...Threw out 46% (23 of 50) of Triple-A baserunners attempting to steal and caught 2 of 11 (18.2 %) attempted basestealers with Boston.

2006

Spent his second season in the Devil Rays organzation, playing exclusively for Triple-A Durham...had spent at least part of each of the previous 4 seasons in the Majors...played 50 games at catcher, but also saw action at third base (5 games), first base (2 games), left field (2 games) and pitcher (one game)...earned the win in his one game on the mound, tossing a perfect inning in Durham's 6-5, 14-inning victory on June 9 vs. Norfolk...posted a .992 fielding percentage behind the plate with 3 errors and 12 passed balls...batted .183 with 2 homers and 21 RBI in 78 games...went 3-for-4 (.750) with the bases loaded, including a grand slam on May 26 vs. Richmond...was released by the Devil Rays on Dec. 5.

2005

Began the season on the disabled list with right shoulder tendonitis before being reinstated on May 7 and sent to Triple-A Durham...was recalled to Tampa Bay on June 13 and homered in his first Rays at-bat on June 15 vs. Milwaukee off Victor Santos...was the 5th Ray to accomplish the feat, first since George Lombard on April 19, 2003 at Baltimore...appeared in 13 Major League games (10 starts) at catcher...went 5-for-31 (.161), with 3 of the hits going for extra bases (2 homers and a double)...took Randy Johnson deep on June 21 at New York...was the 2nd half of back-to-back home runs with Damon Hollins, the first time the Rays went back-to-back in 2005...was optioned back to Durham on July 22...overall, hit .293 with 9 homers and 47 RBI for the Bulls.
