Played a majority of the season with High-A Eugene as a 20-year old, appearing in 91 games while slashing .211/.275/.344 with 14 doubles, 11 homers and 11 steals...Missed roughly a month from May 4-June 6 when he was sidelined with a quad injury...played in two rehab games with the ACL Giants Black in the Complex League before returning to Eugene...Over his final 30 games at Eugene, Matos slashed .275/.309/.458 with half of his doubles (seven) and five of his 11 homers on the season...In Eugene’s run to its second straight Northwest League championship, Matos went 5-for-14 with two doubles and five RBI in three games vs. Vancouver...Suited up for Scottsdale in the Arizona Fall League following the regular season...got off to a hot start with the Scorpions, homering twice and driving in nine runs in his first three games of AFL play...Finished his time in the AFL hitting .241 with three doubles, one triple, two homers, 13 RBI and one steal with a .662 OPS...Named the Arizona Fall League’s Defensive Player of the Year following his stint there.

Slashed .313/.358/.494 with an .852 OPS in 109 games for Low-A San Jose. Matos had 35 doubles and 15 homers, picking up where he left off in 2019 after no season in 2020...Led all Low-A batters in RBI (86), doubles (35), hits (141), total bases (223) and extra-base hits (51) and ranked second in runs (84) and seventh in batting average (.313)...Was tabbed as the Cal League MVP at the end of the season after playing the entire year as a 19-year-old...He was also named to the 2021 Cal League Post-Season All-Star team.
