Grew up in Minnesota and had to shovel snow off his high school baseball field...Grew up a Minnesota Twins fan and was drafted by the Twins in the 34th round of the 2014 First Year Player Draft out of high school, but did not sign...Attended Jacksonville University and Mahtomedi (MN) HS...Was a groomsman in Zac Lowther's wedding...Played football in high school, appearing in games as both an offensive and defensive lineman...Was teammates with Austin Hays in college at Jacksonville (2015-16)…His favorite baseball movie is For the Love of the Game. Named Orioles Jim Palmer Minor League Co-Pitcher of the Year (with RHP Grayson Rodriguez)...Threw a no-hitter for Double-A Bowie on 7/16 vs. Harrisburg, becoming the first Baysox hurler to toss a 9.0-inning no-hitter since RHP Radhames Liz achieved the feat in 2007, also against the Senators...Was twice named the Eastern League Pitcher of the Week (7/15-21 and 8/12- 18), and earned Carolina League Pitcher of the Week honors while with Frederick (4/29-5/5)...Also named the Orioles Minor League Pitcher of the Month for July (2-1, 1.38 ERA [5 ER, 32.2 IP], 30 K, .148 OPP BA [16-for-108], 5 GS)...Named a Mid-Season All-Star with Frederick...Entered the season ranked as the No. 21 Orioles prospect, according to Baseball America.

Split the season between Class-A Delmarva and Class A-Advanced Frederick, posting a combined 13-5 record with a 3.17 ERA (46 ER/130.2 IP) and 106 strikeouts...Started the season at Delmarva going 5-0 with a 1.42 ERA (6 ER/38.0 IP) before being promoted to Frederick on 5/18...Named Carolina League Pitcher of the Week on 9/3: 1-0, 0.00 ERA (7.0 IP), 5 K, 1 GS.

Spent the majority of his first professional season with Short-Season A Aberdeen; made one start for the GCL Orioles...Went 4-2 with a 1.31 ERA (6 ER/41.1 IP) and 41 strikeouts in nine starts (10 games) for the IronBirds...Named Orioles Minor League Pitcher of the Month for August: 4-0, 0.70 ERA (2 ER/25.2 IP) 24 K, 5 GS.
