Acquired on Aug. 30 by SD prior to the trade deadline in one of the club's six deadline deals...sent to SD from SEA along with RHPs Austin Adams and Dan Altavilla in exchange for C Luis Torrens, INF Ty France, OF Taylor Trammell and RHP Andres Muñoz...Selected to play with USA Baseball’s Collegiate National Team in the summer of 2010...won silver medal at the FISU World University Baseball Championship in Tokyo, Japan.

2019

Made his Major League debut in 2019 with the Tigers, pitching in 46 games, which ranked 10th in the American League... Led all Major League rookie relievers with 79.2 innings pitched...since 1980, only three Detroit relievers have thrown more innings during a rookie campaign...the single-season high over that span is Mike Henneman, who tossed 96.2 innings in 1987...also ranked tied for sixth among Major League rookie relievers with five wins, which were the most by a Tigers rookie reliever since Al Alburquerque won six games in 2011... Had 28 multi-inning appearances during the season, compiling a 4-3 record and 3.84 ERA (65.2IP/28ER), while punching out 63...also made 11 outings lasting at least 3.0 innings, over which he posted a 3-1 record and 3.09 ERA (35.0IP/12ER) with 33 strikeouts... Made his big league debut on May 11 at Minnesota, allowing one run on six hits with one walk and five strikeouts in 4.0 innings... Split the season between Biloxi (AA) and Colorado Springs (AAA), pitching in 39 games (2 starts)...Earned his 2nd consecutive Southern League Mid-Season All-Star selection...Did not allow an earned run in 12 consecutive appearances from April 16-May 20, going 3-0 with 1save and 20 strikeouts.

2017

Converted to a pitcher prior to the season and spent most of the year with BLX, making 48 outings...Named to the SL Mid-Season All-Star Team...Ranked 2nd among SL relievers in opp. AVG (.199, 56-for282), 3rd in fewest baserunners allowed per 9.0 IP (9.34), T-3rd in appearances and 4th in walks per 9.0 (2.57).

2016

Spent the entire year with BLX for the second consecutive season in his final campaign as a position player...played in 113 games and ranked T-6th in the SL with 14 HR...Recorded his 5th career multi-home run game on June 24 vs. Montgomery.
