He and his wife, Nohemi Arenas, have one daughter, Adhara...His brother, Edgar, is an outfielder in the Texas Rangers system. His father, also named Osleivis, played professionally for Texas as well...He has several cousins who also have played affiliated baseball, including Olivier Basabe, Luis Alejandro Basabe, former Giants OF Luis Alexander Basabe (2020) and current Giants OF Luis Matos...His family holds an annual baseball game at their December family reunions.

Played 66 games for Triple-A Durham...Missed over two months with a right wrist fracture sustained on the field on April 16...Slashed .248/.293/.336 with 26 runs, eight doubles, five homers and 29 RBI for Durham...Rehabbed for 12 games with the FCL Rays from June 21-July 16, batting .270 with eight runs and two homers.

2023

Split the season between Class-A Bowling Green and Double-A Montgomery, earning a June 27 promotion…hit .324 (144-for-444) with 39 2B, four HR, 47 RBI and 21 SB between the two levels… tied for sixth in the Minors in doubles...Ranked second among Rays Minor Leaguers (min. 150 AB) in avg. behind Kyle Manzardo (.327)…led Rays Minor Leaguers in doubles, ranked second in hits and tied for sixth in extra-base hits (48)...Among players with 150 AB, his 333 avg. with Montgomery ranked first in the Southern League...Played for the Aguilas del Zulia in the Venezuelan Winter League for a third straight year...Ranked by Baseball America as the No. 11 prospect in the Rays system following the season… the publication also tabbed him as having the Best Strike-Zone Discipline in the organization.

2021

In 2021, hit .282/.347/.388 (83-for-294) with three HR and 36 RBI in 70 games between Class-A Charleston and Class-A Bowling Green...His 6 3B tied for 4th in the Carolina League and tied for most among Rays minor leaguers...Ranked by Baseball America as the No. 25 prospect in the Rays system following the season.

2020

In 2020, was not part of the Rangers 60-man player pool and did not play following the cancellation of the minor league season.

2019

Spent most of the 2019 season with the AZL Rangers…played two games with Short-A Spokane to end the season…hit .323/.352/.398 (52-for-161) in 37 games between the two levels.

2018

In 2018, ranked 3rd in the Dominican Summer League with a .344 avg. and made the DSL postseason All-Star Team.
