Is a 2015 graduate from Lambert High School in Suwanee, Ga.…led the Longhorns to a 36-2 record and a national title as a sophomore, hitting .589 with 10 homers...Graduated high school a semester early and enrolled at Clemson University in January 2016, where he spent three seasons with the Tigers (2016-18)...Became the first freshman to win the Dick Howser Trophy, which is awarded annually to the best college baseball player, after hitting .369 with 18 home runs and 70 RBI…also named National Freshman of the Year by Baseball America and a Golden Spikes Award finalist among his many additional honors in 2016...Was the third Tiger to win the Dick Howser Trophy, joining Kris Benson (1996) and Khalil Greene (2002)...Played outfield at Clemson but was converted to first base by the Astros after being drafted in 2018...Set national records in the 50m and 100m backstroke in the 11-12 age group before walking away from his Olympic swimming dream to focus on baseball at 13...According to The Athletic, Beer's 100m backstroke record (1:01:35) set in 2009 was less than four seconds off the qualifying time for Team USA’s Olympic trials 3 years later in 2012…Beer's record was broken by Ryan Murphy, who went on to win three gold medals and break a world record in the same event at the 2016 Olympic Games in Brazil...Played with Team USA on the 2016-2017 Collegiate National Teams and in the 2013 National Team Development Program.

Batted .287 (104-for-362)/.398 OBP/.511 SLG with 33 doubles, 16 home runs and 59 RBI in 100 games with Triple-A Reno... At the time of his promotion, led all Minor Leaguers with 30 HBP and tied for the Triple-A overall lead with 49 extra-base hits.
