Appeared in 18 games for the Yankees, before being shut down with a right shoulder injury...Was placed on the 15-day disabled list with right shoulder tendinitis on 5/14. Underwent an MRI exam that revealed a small rotator-cuff tear and bursitis of the right shoulder...He was sent to Birmingham, Alabama, to meet with Dr. James Andrews, who concurred with the Yankees' diagnosis...Uderwent surgery to repair the rotator-cuff tear on 5/23 in Birmingham, by Dr. Andrews.
