April 29: 2B (left oblique strain) shut down from baseball activity
Gelof -- who landed on the 10-day injured list on Thursday with a strained left oblique -- is currently being held out of all baseball activity, A’s manager Mark Kotsay revealed before Monday’s series opener against the Pirates at the Coliseum. April 27: 3B to begin rehab assignment
Sidelined since April 15 with a right groin strain, Davis joined Triple-A Las Vegas on Saturday with an eye toward beginning a rehab assignment on Sunday, manager Mark Kotsay said. An eight-year veteran who joined the A’s on a one-year deal in March after being released by the Giants, Davis slashed .196/.255/.373 with two home runs over his first 14 games with the team before the injury.
