Texas Rangers and GovX Extend Online Ticket Discount to Military and First Responders

Rangers among the first MLB Clubs to take part in Online Ticket Discount Program

The Texas Rangers and GovX today announced the launch of the first online verification ticketing service exclusively for U.S. Military service members and government first responders as part of an overall Major League Baseball initiative. The program, delivered through new technology and verification partner GovX.com, will offer specially priced Rangers tickets to those who serve and protect our country and communities, including active and veteran U.S. Military personnel, along with federal, state and local government first responders and related government employees.

Through its proprietary online verification technology, GovX will integrate with the Rangers' ticketing platform to ensure accurate authorization exclusively for this very deserving group of fans. This marks a significant change, as previously fans had to show proof of military or government identification in person at the box office.

GovX is also proud to be a sponsor of Military Appreciation Night on September 11, 2013 at Rangers Ballpark.

Founded as an e-commerce destination dedicated to providing U.S. Military service members and government first responders significant savings on products and services for active and off-duty lifestyles, with this partnership GovX further expands its offerings to include discounts on premium sports and event ticketing.

The Rangers are offering group pricing on individual ticket purchases to all military personnel and first responders for all regular season home games. Discounts range from 15 to 50 percent off standard gate price depending on seat location and game date. The partnership also includes special pricing on officially licensed merchandise through the MLB.com Shop, as well as on MLBAM's out-of-market live video streaming subscription product, MLB.TV.

The Rangers' next homestand begins on Friday, August 30, when the club hosts the Minnesota Twins at Rangers Ballpark in Arlington.

For more information and to purchase discounted tickets, qualified fans can visit the designated military or first responder recognition pages at http://texas.rangers.mlb.com/tex/ticketing/govx_military.jsp or http://texas.rangers.mlb.com/tex/ticketing/govx_firstresponders.jsp

Upon selecting the desired game, users who are not already GovX members are directed to a simple online verification page to complete the one-time verification process. From there, users proceed with their ticket selection, where the discount is automatically applied. The purchased tickets can then be emailed or downloaded.
