On Friday night, it didn’t take long for Sebastian Walcott to make his presence known. Currently ranked No. 9 on the Top 100 Prospects list, the 20-year-old crushed a leadoff homer for Double-A Frisco as he continues to make the most of his limited at-bats in 2026.
The Rangers’ top prospect, who has occupied that spot for the past two seasons, jumped on the fourth pitch of the game for his fifth home run of the season. Facing righty Drew Beam (KC No. 20), Walcott sent the 2-1 offering way beyond the left-field fence, soaring 426 feet per the Arvest Ballpark Trackman device.
Walcott added a double in the fifth inning to finish the night 2-for-5 in Frisco's 5-3 loss to the Northwest Arkansas Naturals.
Performances like this have been rare for Walcott this season but largely due to a lack of opportunity. Equipped with one of the best throwing arms in the Minors, the shortstop began experiencing fatigue last year and eventually underwent an internal brace procedure in February. He returned to Double-A on July 17 with a visibly more muscled physique and the added power to prove it.

Just a few weeks later, Walcott landed back on the injured list, this time in precautionary concussion protocol after being struck in the head by an errant pickoff throw.
Things have been a little more up-and-down since his second IL stint with the exception of his past five games. During that span, he has reached base safely 14 times with four stolen bases. He continues to serve as the designated hitter as his elbow fully heals and has hit .295 with a .902 OPS across 26 Double-A contests this year.
