Wade Howell promoted to vice president with oversight of Hickory Crawdads

The Texas Rangers today announced that Down East Wood Ducks General Manager Wade Howell has been promoted to Vice President.

The Texas Rangers today announced that Down East Wood Ducks General Manager Wade Howell has been promoted to Vice President. While continuing to supervise all operations of Texas' High-A franchise in Kinston, North Carolina, Howell will add oversight responsibilities for the Low-A Hickory (NC) Crawdads in his new role.
 
In addition, it was announced that Director of Operations Janell Bullock and Director of Sales Jon Clemmons have been promoted to Assistant General Managers at Down East.
 
Howell was appointed as General Manager of the Rangers' new Carolina League franchise in September 2016 and successfully oversaw all aspects of the Wood Ducks' business, stadium, and administrative preparations for their inaugural 2017 season. He spent the previous five years with the Texas Rangers major league club as Senior Director of Media Sales and has over 22 years of professional and intercollegiate sports experience. 
 
Bullock, who joined the Wood Ducks in September 2016, was previously the Assistant General Manager for the Kinston Indians from 2008-11, She was the Merchandise Manager for the Carolina Mudcats from 2014-16 after two seasons in the same capacity with the Pacific Coast League's Nashville Sounds. 
 
Appointed as Down East's Director of Sales in September 2016, Clemmons spent the previous six seasons with the South Atlantic League's Asheville Tourists, serving as Assistant General Manager the last three years. 
 
General Manager Mark Seaman will continue to oversee the day-to-day operations at Hickory of the South Atlantic League. The Texas Rangers are majority owners of both the Down East and Hickory franchises.
