In his fourth pro season, went 2-0 with 2 SV, 2.04 ERA (9 ER/39.2 IP), 46 SO, 18 BB, a 1.08 WHIP and .180/.278/.216/.494 (25-for-139) opponent slash in a career-high 28 games with FCL Orioles (Rk.), Aberdeen (A+), and Chesapeake (AA)…set career highs in games, IP, and SO, and ranked among O’s Minor League hurlers with as many IP in opponent OPS (third), ERA (fourth), WHIP (fourth), opponent BA (fourth), opp. SLG (fourth) and opp. OBP (fifth)…was one of six O’s farmhands to toss 39.2+ homerless IP...of the six, Baumler’s 1.08 WHIP was lowest…began season on the IL before making his season debut in rehab app. on 5/5 for FCL Orioles…in 20 games for Aberdeen, went 2-0, converted each of his two save opportunities, and logged a 2.45 ERA (8 ER/29.1 IP)…notched his first pro save in his first game with IronBirds on 5/15-G2 at HV… promoted to Chesapeake on 8/19 and made his final six appearances of the campaign for the Baysox (7.2 SHO IP, 3 H, 2 BB, 6 SO)...K’d 1+ one batter in five of those six games…overall, was scoreless over his final 10 G (12.2 IP) from 8/5-end of season, producing a 0.63 WHIP and limiting opponents to a .122 clip (5-for-41) with 3 BB/15 SO.

Opened the season with Aberdeen, going 3-1 with a 4.00 ERA (8 ER/18.0 IP) on 15 H (2 HR), six BB and 15 SO across seven games/one GS with the IronBirds...sent to Single-A Delmarva on 6/18 and pitched in three games before being placed on the 7-day IL on 7/18, retroactive to 7/10, with a right shoulder impingement, which ended his season.
2023
Pitched in seven games/five GS between the FCL Orioles and Delmarva, going 1-0 with a 3.18 ERA (6 ER/17.0 IP), 21 SO, nine BB, a 1.12 WHIP, and a .164 opponent BA… following the season, played for the Mesa Solar Sox of the AFL...participated in the O’s Fall Instructional League camp at the Ed Smith Stadium complex in Sarasota, Fla.

Saw official game action for the first time in his pro career, posting no record and a 1.54 ERA (2 ER/11.2 IP) with 20 SO/7 BB in 4 G/GS for Delmarva from 5/25-6/15…finished the year ranked as the No. 22 O’s prospect, according to MLB Pipeline and the no. 24 O’s prospect per Baseball America.
